The Empyreal Gem Master

Chapter 27: Quantification and Conspiracies! II

[Unity Support]:: Any Ability Gem that releases an Elemental Ranged Attack can be supported by this Support Ability Gem. The Linked ability and the Gem Master become one, allowing for the output of damage to be increased by 5 times, while the resource cost is cut by half.

When the linked elemental ranged ability is used, one’s body will temporarily turn into this Elemental ranged attack and further amplify its output while being capable of locking onto a selected target.

[Chained Link Support]:: Any Ability Gem that releases an Elemental Ranged Attack can be supported by this Support Ability Gem. The supported Ability will chain onto five additional targets.

[Splash Damage Support]:: Any Ability Gem that releases an Elemental Attack can be supported by this Support Ability Gem. The supported Ability will deal 60% area of effect damage to all targets within the surrounding 5 meters.

Three support abilities.

Alexander took them out of the isolated storage space as they circled on his chest briefly before they sank into their respective Sockets.

They completed the recipe of the Corrupted Lightning King as with them, Alexander theorized doing some truly incredible things.

The brief flash of crimson light shook Claire of whatever reverie she was in as she looked toward Alexander.

This whole time, she didn’t ask him to explain anything about how he was able to do what he did, and-...!

Alexander’s thoughts came to a stop.

His senses were expanded this whole time as finally, they locked onto an anomaly!

He sensed a Two-Link Gem Master gaze around him many times over before he entered a tent.

His attention instantly focused on this area as all details unfolded before his eyes.

As soon as the Two-Link Gem Master entered the tent, he reached under his bedding and pulled out a device with a Primal Life Gem embedded in it- one very similar to the device that Gem Master Azazel had given Alexander for communication as it could reach vast distances!

It was a [Gem Messenger Device].

The Two-Link Gem Master grasped onto this device with a stern expression as a moment later, his voice was picked up by Alexander’s senses.

"Something must have gone wrong. Azazel is en route back to the City of Carthage with the target injured, and the son of Branch Leader Julius following close behind. Awaiting further instructions."

…!

The voice caused Alexander’s face to turn unfathomably sour.

There really was someone betraying them and passing along information. To where? To whom? How many more of them were there?

These questions arose one after another as Alexander couldn’t leave it alone!

He turned towards Claire as he spoke out while repressing his burning anger.

"I’ve located the leak. Wait for me at the same area we met Azazel away from the Barracks…I’ll ensure they arrive there."

His anger was making way to extreme coldness.

He wanted to know.

Why?

Why would someone do such a thing against them?

Claire’s eyes showed a sense of sadness at the confirmation of someone truly betraying them, her head nodding with resoluteness thereafter as they opened the tent they were in…and moved in different directions!

Alexander went towards the tent that a Two-Link Gem Master was pacing back and forth in while the hooded Claire began to leave the tents and go towards the shield of trees in the distance.

Within a minute.

Alexander stood outside of a tent as his eyes shone with a sharp light, stepping into it calmly as the figure within turned around cautiously right away!

"Who-...?!"

His pupils constricted as if he had seen a ghost.

"You…!"

Before he could speak any further, Alexander’s hand flashed towards him with a glacial light as wondrously, his body from top to bottom slowly became covered in ice- this ice only stopping after half of his face, including his mouth, was encased in ice entirely!

Only his shocked eyes and widening nose were left untouched as Alexander’s hand grabbed onto his hair- his eyes looking at this Gem Master with controlled anger as he now needed a private place.

A private place for a conversation without worrying about any other Gem Masters intruding.

So his body began to crackle with crimson lightning.

He felt as if this lighting and he were one and the same after the latest add-ons of the Support Ability Gems, and his body fantastically turned to become a streak of crimson lighting that shot out of the entrance of the tent!

Tendrils of red brilliance grabbed a mostly frozen Gem Master and a Gem Messenger Device as they flashed across the skies of the Barracks.

It was a flash of crimson light that caused a few sensitive eyes nearby to turn and gaze to the skies, but those of their caliber didn’t capture the speed of such an attack as it only caused the Gem Masters to carry out another sweep across the Barracks to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

Across the skies, a flash of crimson flashed again as it entered the depths of the Jungle Grounds.

After a few jumps, the confused and frozen figure of a Two-Link Gem Master was placed in front of a tree, Claire coming out from behind while crimson lighting formed the figure of a stone faced Alexander!

Three people.

Three humans.

The unfrozen eyes of the Two-Link Gem Master shook as he saw Claire, his pupils moving between her and Alexander in shock and confusion as his face seemed deathly pale!

After all, the vast majority of his body was frozen as the cold was extremely penetrating- his skin feeling like it was constantly being pricked by needles.

Alexander looked at this Gem Master as he waved his fingers downwards, the ice around the head and neck of this being breaking apart as he wheezed out while coughing once his mouth was free!

"Lady…Claire! Some sort of..mistak-"

"You were reporting on this Messenger that something had gone wrong. Who was that message to?"

…!

With his head trembling, he had begun talking to Claire as Alexander’s voice had cut in coldly.

It froze any ounce of misunderstanding as he let this Gem Master know that he knew everything!
