Chapter 163 - The Disturbance In The Aura
Grandmaster Lan abruptly stood up. He was seated next to the Sect Leader Huang Liu. Coincidentally, the sect leader also stood up. Both of them looked at each other and nodded in understanding.
They both turned to look at the prince and the young miss who accompanied him. Seeing the calm expression on their face, they sighed in relief. It seemed that they did not experience that yet.
However, it was a different story for the cultivators of the Eternal Blossom Sect.
Elder Lin, Elder Shen, Elder Mo, and all of the high-ranking Elders from the Eternal Blossom Sect felt something. Elder Lin, who was treating the wounds on Zheng Pao's body, momentarily froze. Even the spiritual energy she used to heal Zheng Pao fluctuated a bit.
Zheng Pao winced in pain. "Elder Lin!" One of the helpers called out her name. She zoned out when healing someone, which was deadly and also out of her character. She was never careless before.
"Disciple Ling, please take it from here," Elder Lin straightened herself up. She had to be somewhere right now.
'Why is she in such a hurry?' The student mumbled as she watched Elder Lin hurry away.
Elder Shen, who had just finished announcing the winner, stiffened when he sensed the disturbance in the spiritual energy of the Vermillion Bird peak. He quickly turned to look at the evergreen forest on the mountainside and frowned.

What was the ominous foreboding in his heart? From the corner of his eyes, he noticed Elder Lin. She had just come out from the injured people's section. Seeing the tensed expression on her face, he realized he was not the only one who had sensed it.
He was pretty sure Grandmaster Lan and Sect Leader Huang Liu had also already sensed the disturbance. The same could be said for some of the other sect leaders who had gathered today.
All the four Sect Leaders experienced a sudden change in the atmosphere of the Vermillion Bird Peak.
Each place had its unique type of energy trait and aura. As they were not that familiar with this terrain, and it was a weak fleeting sensation, they quickly threw this at the back of their mind.
As for Elder Shen, he was in dilemma as to what to do. He realized Elder Lin was making her way towards the epicenter of the disturbance. He wanted to go too, but the tournament would be affected. However, that was out of option. If he panicked, it might create chaos among the public.
"Ahem," he cleared his throat to gather his thoughts together. "We will be heading towards the next match!"
"Le Lao Ling from the Astral Forest Sect and Ping Sen from Azure Dragon Sect," he shouted the name of the two participants. "Please come to the arena!"
Le Lao Ling, who had been waiting for his turn to arrive, smiled. His name sounded too wonderful. He got up from his seat and made his way towards the arena.
Looking at his proud and haughty walking style, one could easily say he was a young master from a prominent family.
Ping Sen was a young cultivator from the Heavenly Dragon Abode, aka the Azure Dragon Valley.
Like all the other members of her sect, she too was clad in a white robe from top to bottom. Her hair was long and white.
"Hmph, another girl," Le Lao Ling scoffed when he saw his opponent.
The name Ping Sen hit him as a boy, but it seems he was wrong. Looking at her weak stature, small body frame, and long hair that seemed to take a lot of energy to take care of, he knew victory was guaranteed.
"Tsk, placing me against a weak female," he scrunched his face in a disgusted look. Well, he was not going to say no to an easy win. He was more than happy about this. He wanted to win this thing and prove his worth. It did not matter if he was strong or others were plain weak.
He could care less! They all could go to hell.
Ping Sen saw the mocking look on his face but said nothing. She bowed down in greetings as she positioned herself opposite to him. She knew he looked down on her like anyone else did when they first saw her.
She had a weak body…or that was what everyone thought when they saw her. Were they all stupid or what? She was a cultivator who had refined her body off of impurities as everyone else did. She was strong despite looking like that.
'I will let him underestimate me,' she sighed. It was always better having people underestimate you so that you could face slap them to the point they saw stars in broad daylight.
Elder Shen gave them the signal to start fighting.
Ping Sen had been waiting for this! She created a fireball in her hand and threw it towards Le Lao Ling. She wanted to take advantage of the carelessness. And she succeeded.
On top of not knowing what her affinity he underestimated her.
He saw the incoming attack, but he did not have time to repel it back or destroy it. It hit his right arm, and immediately, his whole arm got engulfed in red flames.
"You will regret taking me lightly!" she snickered as she dashed towards him in gentle steps as if she was a feather. She wanted to hurt him more while he was still in confusion.
"Ahh!" She gasped in surprise as she narrowly escaped a water attack.
Now, this was what she was not expecting. She jumped backward and landed in a place that was at a safe distance from the man.
She narrowed her eyes upon seeing the water circling his body. A crisp smell of burnt flesh wafted in the air. Le Lao Ling was now wet and had water droplets dripping down from his hair and robes.
His right arm had crispy burnt patches. A menacing aura surrounded his body as he stared at the girl like she was prey.. He was pissed.
