Chapter 28 - Obvious Trap (1)
Ch.28 Obvious Trap (1)
From monitoring the stream, the crew found that the comments would fly past madly as soon as either Lin Yueqi or Qin Xue appeared, and the view counts were also rising up.
As a result, the cameraman gave Lin Yueqi a lot of screen time. Her appearances in the stream were almost as often as Qin Xue’s.

When the camera moved to Qin Xue, the comments went, “Ahhhh, Goddess! Mom asked why I’m licking the screen, it’s cause the screen was so tasty!”
When the camera moved to Lin Yueqi, the comments wrote, “Yuck…What’s a disfigured woman like her doing in the entertainment industry? Just go home and bury your mother! Quickly give the camera back to my Goddess! I wanna lick my screen!”
The red scars on Lin Yueqi’s right cheek and forehead could be seen on HD under the high-quality cameras.
In the half months she spent in the countryside, her Aunt Lin Yu found her an old Chinese doctor to prescribe her a few ointments. So that her niece’s face could heal as quickly as possible, she made all the herbal ointments herself and even sterilized them. They were all so clean that they were edible.
Lin Yu also had some knowledge about Chinese medicine so she trusted TCM a lot. Lin Yueqi also believed that Lin Yu’s ointment and diet therapy was working for her, After all, her aunt was in her forties and she still had rosy skin and lustrous dark hair. Lin Yueqi believed that the reason a rural woman like her in her forties could maintain her beauty so well had a lot to do with Chinese medicine.
After the help of the topical ointment and her aunt’s diet, Lin Yueqi’s face healed without leaving any pits. There was only some redness left on her face but that will quickly disappear as her skin cells regenerate. It would only be a matter of time before she recovered completely.
In truth, the red marks on Lin Yueqi’s face were not that obvious to the naked eye. It’ll be gone with just a light layer of foundation. She would simply be dazzling in a crowd.
But god knows what she was thinking when she refused to put on any makeup with the excuse of “recovering” on the show. She just slathered on a simple layer of sunscreen. The blemishes on her face were magnified infinitely by the camera, which already had the tendency of making one’s makeup look flat. With Qin Xue’s flourishing beauty there as contrast, her glow was instantly taken away.
Qin Xue was in a group of six. Besides Qin Xue and Tang Weiwei, everyone else in the group were male stars. They consisted of Du Ming, Huang Ming, Song Yi, and Zhang Cheng all of whom have been famous these past few years. These men developed their careers around the film and TV industry with pretty good success. They actually had their own selfish reasons when they agreed to come onto the show.
Everyone loved a good beauty, so what’s there not to love with a beautiful girl like Qin Xue? These men were relatively successful in the circle, so they believe that only men like them could match a star like Qin Xue. So, they joined this program in order to pursue her.
Of the male stars who participated in this episode, only Wen Zhe did not rush over to her. He really wanted to turn his career back around in this reality show. Moreover, he did like QIn Xue as well, but as a no-name actor, he…He didn’t think he was qualified to like a girl as he was now.
Since he, out of all the male members who came to this show, was actually serious about his participation, only he did his studying. As for Tang Weiwei, she only came to the show because her uncle was the producer and she didn’t study much either. She only did a few mock tests and reviewed her knowledge on the exam.
In last season’s “Celebrity College Exam Competition”, several of the stars were unprepared and didn’t do any studying, so their inability to answer the questions turned into great comedy content. So, she didn’t think it was important whether she could answer the questions or not. What matters is that she shows up on the show to show off her character and show the fans her charms.
After they divided into teams, they assigned their team leaders and went to the director to collect their team flags.
The captain of Group A’s six-man team was naturally Qin Xue, while Wen Zhe raised his hand and voted for Lin Yueqi to lead Team B. No matter how bad Lin Yueqi was doing now, she was still much more well-known than he was so she should be the team leader.
When Qin Yue and Lin Yueqi went to get their flags, they had their first close-range head-to-head encounter.
In order to create a discussion point for the crew, Qin Yue struck up a conversation with her on purpose. “Qiqi, how have you been? Good luck on the competition.”
