Chapter 73 - The Search For Jia Lis Uncle
Chapter 73 - The Search For Jia Li's Uncle
When the old General stepped into Jia Li's room and saw her lying on the bed with a drip connected to her vein, he felt guilty and responsible for her condition.
Butler Lu brought a chair closer to the bed, so he could sit.
Grandfather Fu sat down and placed his hands on Jia Li's hands. There was regret in his eyes as he spoke gently to her.
"Jia Li, Grandfather is sorry for letting you receive these blows all at once. I thought it would have been the best option, so you wouldn't have to go through hell again, but no, I was wrong. Jia Li, I hope you forgive me."
After Grandfather Fu said his part, he gently caressed Jia Li's hand and let go.
"Master, Miss Qin is really pitiful. She lost himr parents the same day. I pray she gets over this soon." Butler Lu said from the side with a hint of pity in his tone.
"Get Fu Hua on the phone, we must get to the bottom of this matter and give Jia Li an explanation when she wakes up." Grandfather Fu said.
At Fu Hua's end, when he arrived, the Superintendent of police, was already there and waiting for him.
Fu Hua speaks with him and gets a better understanding of the situation.
The loan sharks that were caught, were scared out of their wits when they discovered the military was linked to their case.
Was it not over for them?
If they had the slightest idea the people they assaulted were related to the military, they wouldn't have dared to receive the order from their boss, whether they borrowed money from them or not.
Before Grandfather Fu came down, he already spoke with Officer Su and mobilized some people to help with the investigation.

He also put a call across to the Superintendent, and the man immediately got his ass over to the district office to take over the case.
Seeing the Boss himself overseeing their case, the loan sharks confessed and told them everything they knew.
As for the loan sharks that escaped, they immediately went back to their base and confessed their mistake to their Boss.
Their Boss was so angry that he kicked them.
"How could you start beating people without confirming their identities, you moron!!!."
"Boss, it's not our fault, it's that Bastard that borrowed money from us and refused to pay back. He was the one that out the wrong address in the contract he signed, and we were led there." One of them said with a grave expression on his face.
"That bastard! He dared to deceive us?!." The Boss said angrily as he kicked a wooden chair.
"Where is that fool?!." He growled.
"Boss, that is not the point now. The point is that the police are after us soon since they caught the others. We have to escape from here." One of them reminded him.
How could he be thinking about going to look for that bastard that put them in this trouble when their lives were at stake?
"That bastard! Wait till this matter dies down and I will castrate him! But all of you are fools. How can you beat somebody to that state, what if you killed them?." The Boss admonished them while pointing his fingers to them angrily.
'Boss were you not the one that asked us to beat people up?.'
One of them thought, but dared not to voice it out, for fear of being beaten to death.
"We are sorry Boss!." All of them bowed and apologized.
"Quick, gather our most important things and leave before the police comes for us!." The Boss ordered, and the rest started gathering their things.
After getting the confession from the loan sharks that were caught, and because of the Fu Family's influence, all the police stations in the city were ordered to find the loan sharks and their Boss that escaped.
Not just the police, the military was involved as well in this case.
When Grandfather Fu got to Fu Hua through the phone, he learned of the situation and deployed more people to search for the loan sharks that went into hiding.
He promised to explain to Jia Li when she wakes up. Even if he had to mobilize the country to search for those people, he will do that as long as he gets the fastest result.
Because of the advancement of technology, and the number of people ordered to look for them, the loan sharks and their Boss were found 3 hours later at their hiding place.
They were scared for their life when they saw the military and the number of police cars that came to find them.
The Boss of the loan sharks kept shouting he wasn't the murderer, but instead, he received a tight slap on his face when he refused to shut up.
When the others saw the way their Boss was being treated, they didn't dare to voice their opinion. They remained mute until they were brought to the station.
Without torture, the loan sharks confessed to their crimes and answered all the questions that were thrown at them.
They didn't forget to sell their boss out.
It turned out their Boss was a local drug dealer.
Since it was the military that interrogated them, how dare they not confess to all the crimes they had committed without being asked?
They knew they couldn't escape, so why bother trying to make life difficult for themselves when they could just say everything and escape being tortured.
With the information the loan sharks gave to them, the police understood the situation very well.
Mr. Qin's brother-in-law borrowed a huge amount of the money from the loan sharks and failed to pay it back after the time given to him had expired.
He also failed to comply after the grace of two months given to him, expired.
The loan sharks beat him up and threatened to find him and beat him up again if he doesn't come back within some days with their money and interest.
When they didn't see the man, they decided to find his address from the form he filled in, and visit him.
Out of the people that were sent to the address, it was only one that had seen and known Mr. Qin's brother-in-law, hence, they made the mistake.
After taking down their confession, the search for Jia Li's uncle began.
Although Grandfather Fu was satisfied with the progress of the work, he was still very angry with Jia Li's uncle.
What a moron!
"Fu Hua, you're doing a good job. Now the progress has reached this level, you can come back to the hospital. Jia Li is so pitiful, losing her parents in one day, I don't know how she will come out of this." Grandfather Fu said to Fu Hua over the phone.
Earlier, Fu Hua learned from his Grandfather that Jia Li's father died a few minutes later after they stepped foot into the hospital. And when Jia Li received the news, she fainted.
Fu Hua's cold heart, felt the pain and anguish she must be going through. He knew she was still young and was going through a lot at the moment.
Grandfather Fu was still on a call with Fu Hua when the servant he placed at Jia Li's side, came out to tell him Jia Li was awake.
Grandfather Fu ended the call and walked into the room to see Jia Li sitting up on her bed and staring into space.
Grandfather Fu's heart that felt joyful a moment ago, suddenly felt pins stabbing his heart.
Jia Li didn't even acknowledge his presence and just sat there with her gaze on the wall.
"Jia Li, are you okay?." Grandfather Fu asked in a gentle tone as he went to sit beside her bed.
Jia Li didn't react until she felt the cold palms on her hands. Her eyes slowly came back to life as her gaze moved from the wall to the familiar face.
The old man felt a little better when he saw Jia Li stare at him.
"Jia Li, everything is going to be alright. We have found the people that caused this incident."
The grandfather Fu went ahead to explain everything Fu Hua told him.
"... your uncle used your address while filling the form for the loan. Right now, the loan sharks have been arrested, and the police have been dispatched to find your uncle."
Jia Li's eyes flickered, but she didn't say anything
"Jia Li, I promise to bring those people to punish all of them. By morning, we will go to your home. For now, you still need to finish the formalities here as the child of your parents, so their body can be sent to the morgue."
Finally, Jia Li's eyes became teary but she stopped the tears from rolling down her cheeks.
She sniffed and rubbed away the tear that was at the corner of her eye.
