Chapter 54
Chapter 54: Chapter 20 Barton’s Disgrace
Over the weekend, the vampire Zach closed the Grande Funeral Home, postponed all appointments, deliberately vacated the next three days, and pushed all the affairs to three days later. Because the night of the full moon was approaching, the entire Grande family was shrouded in an anxious atmosphere.
This anxiety came from Benjamin. One day ago, during the hunters’ raid, the wolfishness that erupted because of the thinking that Zach was dead, made these three days more difficult than ever for him.
Zach decided to advance his diet plan for half a day after eating this morning, not to provoke Benjamin’s wolfishness. In order to reduce the craving for food, our vampire lay ‘sleeping’ in the basement just like a real dead person.
Benjamin sitting on the dome of the Grande Funeral Home’s warehouse twitched his nose, frowning and changing positions under the cover of the water tank. Approaching the full moon night, the werewolf’s senses were increasing rapidly, then he found the first ‘guest’.
Lola Barton had red eyes. She ignored the ‘Closed’ sign on the porch of the Grande Funeral Home and knocked on the cyan door repeatedly.
“We Are Closed today!” The door was opened inward slightly. Old Hank’s voice was like a loud grandfather clock’s bell, his wrinkled face glared at the startled girl, “Can’t you see the sign!”
Lola turned her head in a daze, and saw the sign of ‘Closed’, her red eyes became more aggrieved: “I, I’m looking for Alice, is Alice home?”
Old Hank snorted heavily and moved aside. After Lola entered, he went out and placed the sign of closed in the middle of the front porch before closing the door again…
Today Alice looked more haggard and anxious than usual, and the Great Dane followed her to the coffin display area of the Grande Funeral Home without leaving her a single second. She was not too surprised at Lola’s visit, looking at Lola’s red eyes, she roughly knew what happened.
“Lola, why are you here?” The banshee didn’t need to act. The full moon was approaching, and she had been attacked last night, so her anxious expression was completely natural.

Lola hugged the banshee: “I ran away from home! Waah…”
Alice patted Lola on the back, not knowing how to comfort her, “What happened?”
Lola hugged the banshee and cried for a while, now was she going to share the sadness in her own life? Of course not!
“Is Benjamin home?” Lola asked while sobbing.
Yes, the minds of girls are so magical. When they feel aggrieved, and when they want to share their sadness, they hope that the person they like can be with them. This will arouse the person’s sympathy…
There was a panic in Alice’s eyes, and she lied: “Benjamin is not home.”
Lola was a little disappointed, but she quickly discarded the disappointment and took Alice’s hands: “Can I stay with you for a while? I do not want to go home.”
Alice revealed a reluctant smile: “Well, let’s go to Benjamin’s warehouse.”
Lola nodded with a smile on her teary face.
The two of them held hands and walked into the Grande Funeral Home. Old Hank silently cleaned his works (coffin). The emotions in his eyes, no one knew whether it was happiness or sadness.
After obtaining Lola’s consent, Alice first called Barton Manor in Zach’s office, at least she needed to let Lola’s family know where Lola was so that they would not worry.
On the dome of the warehouse, Benjamin was leaning against the water tank, and the spring breeze was stroking the extremely exuberant hair of the werewolf. Benjamin could even hear the sound of the air swirling on his curled hair, so he could hear the conversation between the two girls now under the dome clearly.
“Kyle.” Lola’s emotions seemed to be occupied by grievances again: “They want to send Kyle to [St. John’s Secondary School]!”
“[St. John’s Secondary School]?” Alice never heard of this school, but she knows that ‘John’ is a figure in the largest religious group, The Church of Holy Lord, in the Federation and one of the disciples of God the Son, who was known for ‘salvation’.
“In the west of the Federation! It is a religious boarding school! Kyle can only come back once a year!” Lola rubbed her eyes with her hands, no matter how good the cosmetics were, it still couldn’t resist such violence.
Alice had no choice but to take the damp cotton and wiped Lola’s eyeliner. Alice didn’t know what a boarding school was, but after hearing this, she could almost guess that that was a place that deprives people of their freedom. This should be the result Benjamin and Zach wanted. Alice thought for a while and comforted her: “Kyle is a senior, it will only take him one year, don’t worry.”
“How can I not worry!” Lola was a little angry, sitting cross-legged on Benjamin’s bed, waving her fists furiously: “That is a completely closed school, and there are ten thousand rules to follow! You can’t go out at will! What if, in the future, Kyle becomes the kind of person who only says ‘May God the Son bless you’!”
Alice’s mood was slightly relaxed, her friend always seemed to always have a peculiar view of things. Ordinary people might only think that this was an education reform school that specializes in controlling bad boys.
“Don’t worry, it just so happens that Kyle can hide outside for a while. Maybe after he comes back, your father, Mr. Barton, will not force him to study law. ”
Lola took out the small mirror from her bag, looked at the corners of her eyes that had been wiped clean, then she became dispirited again, “I am not worried about this. My father won’t let Kyle study law anymore.”
“Why?” This made Banshee very curious, after all, the law was the most direct way to lead to politics and inherit the surname of ‘Barton’.
Lola’s eyes became a little confused, and it seemed that she also didn’t know why, “Yesterday.” Lola looked at Alice and said in a low voice, “Grandma and father were very angry at Kyle. It seemed like it was because of a note they found in Kyle’s backpack.”
Alice tried her best not to show herself what she had already known.
“They were arguing until midnight, and I heard them arguing about ‘have you done what’s written on this?’ Kyle said that he wished that he had done it, and he would do it if he had the opportunity. It seems to have something to do with Connor, something Becky Street under construction, and safety belts.” Lola shook her head. It seemed that she hadn’t heard much. “Later, my grandmother burned the notes, and my father grounded Kyle. I wanted to ask Kyle what happened, but Kyle locked the door and ignored me.”
The ‘holes’ deliberately left by the vampire were wonderfully connected with real memories.
Kyle resisted Connor’s provocation and did not accidentally kill Connor. However, his performance on the field made him lose the possibility of pursuing a career as a professional rugby player, and he had to give in to his father’s arrangement.
Therefore, he had a grudge against Connor. As the grudge grew stronger, he kept thinking about Connor’s provocations in his mind, and his brain gave him a plan to get away completely after killing Connor. He wrote this plan in his notebook. After a week of observation of Connor, Kyle decided to implement the plan that had actually already been carried out a week ago…
Did Zach’s hypnotizing eyes really leave holes? No, this hole was only for Mrs. Barton’s commission, Zach did not completely bury Kyle’s crime! The vampire disrupted the sequence of events, reconstructed a new memory, and threw the ‘crime’ back to Kyle again, and let the Bartron family deal with it themselves!
There was sadness on Lola’s face: “I overheard the conversation between my grandmother and my father again. They said that they would never let Kyle touch the law, and ‘he is a disgrace to the Barton family’ that’s what grandmother said.”
Alice lowered her head and patted Lola on the shoulder.
