Chapter 462: What Changed...?
...
"So why didn't you kill him?" Margarete inquired with a voice that effectively broke the chatter happening between Marina and Aqua.
"..." "..."
They were both taken away from each other's throats as they looked toward the Queen Mother.
Nadia was also curious as to why her mother was unable to kill someone after going out to do it herself.
And it didn't take long before Marina gave in underneath the pressure and said, "This Azmond was weaker than me in the beginning; however, he took me off guard and quickly surpassed me by multiple minor realms in strength."
"As expected of my husband!" Aqua beamed with a radiant smile playing on her lips.
"Ho?" Nadia mused, her interest in this man having been piqued.
"Teehee~" Esra mischievously giggled as she knew that there was more to this 'Azmond' than what was shown at face value.
Her playful gaze shot toward the retreating sickly figure as she seductively lipped her lips.
Every further thing I hear about you makes me want to gobble you up even more!
While Esra was having some very lewd thoughts, Margarete and Aqua were focusing all of their attention on the curvaceous Queen of the AquaRing Kingdom.

Marina knew she had some explaining to do as she slumped into her seat before beginning to narrate the events that followed after she left the castle.
Of course, she left out everything that had to do with Azmond's 'system' and that 'ghost lady'.
But other than that, she essentially summed everything up as him being an utterly ridiculous aberration and unparalleled genius.
A few minutes passed by in the blink of an eye.
"So what you're saying is that you were bested by a boy less than a tenth of your age?"
Margarete's rich voice, filled with a tinge of disappointment, echoed out within a sound canceling Qi barrier.
Marina looked at her mother with a disgruntled look on her face.
Did she completely overlook every single thing I said and focus on the most unimportant part?
The unholy curves of the Milf Queen had a few ripples spread throughout, as she just knew that her battle-hungry mother would react like this.
Her entire life, she was always told that she needed to do better and that she needed to do more if she wished to escape her fate as a woman of the AquaRing household.
And for as long as she could remember, she has taken her mother's words to heart and has attempted to better herself, not only for her sake but for her daughter's.
But in the end, she was limited by talent
It was only recently that she broke through the Seventh Cataclysm of the Tribulation Transcendence Realm.
A feat that those half her age had accomplished with their higher-level 'Basic Tier Qi Talent Body Law Foundation'.
She knew that she had already failed her mother's expectations time and time again, but in the end, she decided that cultivation wouldn't be enough to get her a ticket away from her destiny as a toy to the brother of Adam SubBurn.
So after decades of experimentation, Marina was eventually able to perfect the art of ruling a kingdom and producing maximum amounts of money for said kingdom.
In fact, she was one of the main reasons that the AquaRing Kingdom had gone up from a Tier 7 Kingdom to a Tier 8 Kingdom, and nearly breach through into the ranks of a Tier 9 Kingdom!
That and the strength of her tyrannical mother as she terrorized the rest of the ruling forces on Asterion.
Although, in spite of her mother's strength, there would always be someone stronger. And in this case, the ones who were stronger numbered in the dozens.
Furthermore, they weren't just a little bit stronger, as some of them even started to approach the very peak of the Half-Step Lunar Ascendancy Realm, nearly touching upon the state that the Great Leviathan had achieved.
So in the end, Margarete, just like her daughter, was forced to follow the whims of those who held more strength than they did.
Nevertheless, Marina looked her mother straight in the eye with a resolute glean in her gaze before she said, "Yes, I did lose to him, mother. I'm not ashamed to admit that I lost to someone who bested me without question."
Margarete was a little shocked over the sudden resolve of her daughter, as she, just like her granddaughter's, felt that something was changing in Marina.
However, unlike Aqua and Nadia, she wasn't as shy when it came to asking...
-
"You're different What changed?" Margarete inquired with a curious tone.
Marina heard the all-too-familiar question and turned her head down a little before thinking over what exactly it was that gave everybody the idea that she had changed.
Have I really changed all that much? But I don't feel any different than before
Marina couldn't comprehend what it was that made everyone assume she had changed.
But when she put her pretty hands up to her mouth and felt the slight crease in her lips, she understood what they were talking about...
And it was at that moment that her eyes creased right along with her lips as she stared at her family before saying, "I guess I have changed."
"..." "..." "..."
Nadia, Aqua, Esra, and Margarete were left starstruck for a moment as they got lost in the lively eyes of Marina.
"Mother You're hot" Esra mumbled with her mouth agape.
*Whack!*
"Shut up, you unruly daughter of mine!" Marina yelled after smacking her second-eldest daughter across the back of her head.
"Ow! Mother, you big meanie! That man will never like you if you're so mean!- Oh, oops"
Esra let something slip that she shouldn't have
Her apologetic eyes stared at her mother, as she was silently lip-voicing the word 'sorry'.
Marina looked at her daughter with a disbelieving gaze before she felt the eyes of her mother bore into her back.
"A man?" Margarete questioned with a 'friendly' look on her face.
"Listen, mother, Esra here is quite the silly one, and she oftentimes makes up things-!"
"Don't bother. You think I'm as easy to fool as your daughter's?? Tell me right this instant what she meant by 'A man'," Margarete interjected with a fierceness hidden in her tone.
