Chapter 29 – Caught a Scam Artist (4)

Chapter 29 – Caught a Scam Artist (4)

If he wasn’t worried about being teased to return empty handed by those bastards, he would have been long gone when the little bastard disrupted him the first time.

He Qingwan didn’t seem to care about that particular. She merely said nonchalantly, “Okay then...”

When Xi Yun heard that, he was anxious all over again. The man would still leave if he wasn’t going to buy anything either.

Quickly he said, “Uncle, uncle. Why don’t you pick something else? Just pick anything else!”

Disturbed, the man gave Xi Yun a look. He had felt odd for a while now, but then he figured what could a koala kid and a silly woman possibly be up to?

So he turned around again to look at other desserts. Sure enough, Xi Yun did not disrupt him this time because he had already spotted Su Tian heading this way.

As soon as He Qingwan picked up the item and was about to wrap it up, she suddenly heard a nervous cry from Wang Haoxue, whom she had met a few times before, “Aunty He! Aunty He! Come quickly. Tiantian is feeling ill all of a sudden....”

He Qingwan looked up and panicked. She saw Su Tian carried by a group of girls shuffling toward them. Wang Haoxue calling out to her urgently, “Aunty He, come over and take a look, quickly!”

As they were talking, Su Tian had finally reached just outside the storefront. As though she could no longer take another step, she squatted down onto the ground and held her stomach in pain.

He Qingwan no longer cared about customers, or business. “Tiantian!” She cried out, tossed everything aside and ran toward Su Tian.

Xi Yun followed behind her, also calling out, “Jie jie, are you alright?”

The man turned around and immediately saw Su Tian among the girl. His eyes lit up, Oh wow, could that be the store owner’s daughter? She was pretty, indeed; even when her face was scrunched up.

Just when he was thinking about that, his cell phone rang. It was his wife Zhang Ke.

“Laogong, come out quick. Something’s not right, that group of girls....”

(T/N: Husband. Didn’t sound right to translate that directly into English....)

This was a group of organized scam artists – normally when one of them went to do the deed, others would be on the lookout. Anything that looked out of the ordinary, they’d get the message to their partner inside.

When the man on watch saw the group of high school girls, he didn’t think much about them. He did, however, take a second look at Su Tian as she was quite pretty and discussed with his partners whether they would have a shot at her.

Then they saw Su Tian and a group of girl walked inside the toy shop next door and one of the girls had a large U-lock in her hand when she came back out.

That’s when they noticed something was off.

They then saw Su Tian whispered something to the girls and two of the girls went and hid stealthily on both sides of the door. The girl with the U-lock also went into hiding.

The watchman was now on full alert and immediately passed the message onto Zheng Ke, who then immediately called her husband.

But it was already too late. By now He Qingwan and Xi Yun had already run outside the shop.

As soon as the two of them cleared the door, the two girls waiting by the door were already well prepared and immediately closed the doors to the shop. The girl next to them quickly produced the U-lock from behind her and running it through the door hand, snapped it shut.

The man’s face turned.

F—K!

He cussed and dashed to the door and shook the glass door violently.

He then kicked the door a few times with his feet but it didn’t bulge at all.

He Qingwan used the best material during the remodeling of the dessert shop. The door itself cost close to $10,000. The door was heavy and solid, never mind if it was just one man kicking it, not even three or five men could kick it open.

Su Tian chuckled as she got back up onto her feet. The girls saw that they had successfully trapped the scam artist. They hugged each other and jumped up and down in joyous celebration.

Su Tian said to He Qingwan, “Mom, let me see your cell phone real quick.”

He Qingwan hadn’t even caught on to what had happened yet, but since Su Tian asked, she naturally handed over her phone to her.
