Chapter 118
Chapter 118:
[City of Anabald]
[3 weeks later]
It has been three weeks since we met up with the crimson bandit, and oh boy, got to say it was way harder to get Wendie to agree to leave her mother than I thought it would.
Oh yes, Grandenzil agreed to change the crimson bandits. She even added things she wanted to change for a while now, and I think she will need to start the group from scratch, or mostly having the orphanages will help her a lot.
Now for the last 3 weeks. I have destroyed all the demon rock pillars and got to say angel lovers are an ungrateful bunch.
Every time I ‘clean’ one of their church grounds from all the demon rock, they try and kill me. Well, not that they were very strong, being so low in the pecking order.
The lucky thing is the devil cultists haven’t interfered for a while, but I do have this feeling it is not very good that they don’t do anything. They might be planning things. Might is the wrong word. They are definitely planning something.
Oh, and my body pain also hasn’t reduced a bit. It’s still at that level from 3 weeks ago.
.....
Well, on to the next point. My curses have changed quite a lot, and that is not the only thing that changed even my Ele-.
“Are you done monologue your trip?” A female voice said, sitting across from me on a couch.
“No, I was still busy, but it’s fine now,” I said, looking at the demoness.
“Good, now can you explain to me why you are here?”
“Hmm, didn’t Kayda tell you?” I said, looking at Kayda next to me.
“She did, but I want to know why you are here, Kitsuna Draig, adopted daughter of the Draigs.” The demoness said, glaring at me.
“Man, it sounds like you don’t like me,” I said, faking a painful expression.
“I don’t. the first thing you said to me was, hello, tomato girl.” The demoness said, looking at me deadpan.
“But I was only stating the truth you look like a human tomato,” I said, shrugging.
“... I will kick you out if you don’t explain yourself, Kitsuna.” The demoness said, getting frustrated.
“Tsk, no formal speech, I see,” I said jokingly.
“For you never.” The demoness said, shaking her head.
“Great, I like it more like that anyway. Now for a reason being here is because I am here looking for your mother.” I said with a bright smile. I could also swear I heard Kayda sighed next to me.

“And why will YOU be looking for my mother.” The demoness said, glaring at me again.
“Why does it sound like you don’t want my help,” I said, tilting my head at her.
“Because I don’t. You are a derailing fox and a very problematic one.”
“... that’s quite rude of you,” I said with a baffled expression.
“it’s as rude as calling someone tomato girl.”
“No, it’s not. You are literally attacking me on an emotional level.”
“It doesn’t feel great, does it.” She said with a smug smile blossoming on her face.
“Hmm, some advice from a senior. She is a fox. She has been playing with you from the start.” Kayda said from my lap? Without her wings!?
‘She could have hidden her wings this entire time!?’ I thought, baffled.
“When did you lie down onto my lap, and did you have to ruin my fun again,” I said calmly.
“You, you, you are despicable!!” The demoness yelled, standing up pointing at me with anger.
“I am a fox. We don’t know the mean of that word,” I said sarcastically.
“Garr aghhh! I hate you so much!”
“Join the club,” I said sarcastically.
“That sounded like you hate yourself, you know,” Kayda said, looking up at me from my lap with a raised eyebrow.
“Uuh, it’s doe, doesn’t it,” I said, chuckling.
“... I hate you.” The Demoness girl said, sighing to herself.
“Yet you not doing anything about me.”
“Do you think I am stupid? Firstly, I have heard of what you do to your enemies and have seen it first-hand as well. So, the conclusion is I hate you, but I won’t try and do something against you. That will only be a battle I will lose.”
“Huh, you’re smarter than I thought.”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“Kayda, that’s quite mean of you,” I said calmly.
“What? Am I not allowed to say that?”
“Yes, you’re not. You are from her moms’ generation. This is like having your aunt telling you are a stain on the family’s name.” I said, looking between the confused Kayda and a teary-eyed tomato.
“That-.”
“I am leaving. Do whatever you want.” The tomato girl said, standing up walking out of the room.
“Great, she is going to go and do something stupid to prove you wrong now,” I said, looking at Kayda.
“Why would she.”
“Kayda, as I said, you’re from the same generation as her mother. When someone older than you say something to you, it will mean more to them than someone of the same age. Especially when it comes from someone they look up to.”
“But you’re older than her. Look up to?”
“She didn’t know that, and didn’t you see the stars in her eyes when we rocked up.”
“Hmm, I see what you mean. I overlooked that. It seems I have spent too much time with you.”
“Hey!? How is this my fault now.”
“You are a person that says what’s on your mind, and it kind of rubbed off on me. In shorter terms, your fault.” Kayda said with an arrogant smile.
“What!? That’s just dumb. Who told you to pick up my habits?”
“You.”
“Me? When and how.”
“...”
“Hah, can’t think of an answer, can you, lizard,” I said before I was thrown out of the mansion through the window.
“What the fuck, Kayda!!!” I yelled while falling to the ground.
Boom!
Again, on impact, a small crater came into existence.
“That woman is mad in so many ways,” I said, standing up from the ground.
“Well, anyway, let’s continue exploring Anabald,” I said, dusting myself off while walking to the front gates.
[3 hours later]
“Man, the city of Anabald is quite a net. Especially the view.” I said, sitting on a ship’s Crowsnest looking out to sea or ocean.
“I actually don’t know what they call the ocean here,” I said with a thoughtful expression.

‘After 3 weeks, my stats didn’t change at all. I didn’t even get a level from all the monsters I killed. Well, it doesn’t matter.’ I thought, sighing.
“Though devil magic is quite problematic and useful, I guess. Not that I know what makes it better than demon magic.” I said, lifting my hands in front of me. I lit the one on fire and the other one with lightning.
“And here is the best part I feel more relaxed and in control using them. I can finally train them more.” I said, smiling happily.
“Hoy there may I help thy.” Someone from the deck under me said, making me look down.
“Hmm, did I hear correctly?”
“Hoy there may boy their comedown from my Crowsnest?” the captain said, waving at me.
.....
“Right,” I said, nodding before jumping for the Crowsnest. Seeing his panic at me falling towards him, I chuckled, landing on the deck safely without any problem.
“How you are not that flimsy?” The man said, surprised-looking me over again.
“of course, I got up to your Crowsnest without you noticing.”
“Hoy true that. They want to join my crew?”
“Uhm, ha-ha, sorry, but I am a bit young to join your little crew,” I said awkwardly.
“Young?” The guy said, confused.
“Yeah, I am only 14 years old,” I said, smiling.
“Thy 14 and cursed.” One of the other crew members said with pity.
“Oh yeah, I forgot they are more visible now,” I mumbled, touching my face.
“Yeah, born with it. Well, anyways, see yea,” I said, disappearing from their view.
“Hoy 14 and already that strong. Bright future they have.” The captain said, somehow knowing I could still hear him.
‘When I found out that my curses were changing, I thought. I hoped they would be obsoleted and disappear. I mean, I am a girl now. I don’t want something to ruin my skin, but nooo. They just had to get bigger.’
I thought, running on the roofs towards the Anabald mansion.
Arriving at the front gate of the estate, it was already nighttime.
“Damn, I didn’t think I walked that far from the mansion. lucky I already ate, so I am not that hungry right now, and Kayda should have got me some food.” I said, jumping the fence.
“Hmm, I see they already know of me coming in like that,” I mumbled, seeing the security guards in the shadow only giving me a glance before going back to their work.
‘Hmm, now just to find the open window.’ I thought, walking to the mansion.
