Chapter 19: Okay
Chapter 19: Okay
He Yu smiled: “How are you doing?”
“Same old, same old. Still trying to quit smoking,” Jiang Yun said, shaking her empty cigarette box. She still kept the box to remind herself to stop. “It’s not fun…”
“I had decided to quit smoking on impulse, but how can it be that easy? It’s tough to give something up once you’re addicted to it. This addiction is annoying, too, making me feel so tired every time I can’t satisfy my craving.”
He Yu handed her a piece of chewing gum, “Persevere, you’ll get through it.”
Jiang Yun didn’t reply and chewed gum.
The two were sitting in a western restaurant waiting for their food. The restaurant lights were dim. He Yu scrolled through her phone and asked casually, “What has Ah-Ning been up to recently?”
“She is preparing for the graduate school entrance examination,” Jiang Yun replied, “She has a school she wants to go to, bought the materials, and have begun studying.”

He Yu froze and stared at her.
Jiang Yun also said, “Students these days have everything planned out. When I was their age, I was too lazy to study and made up for that mistake later by suffering in the workplace.” she paused, squeezing the edge of the cigarette case. “I heard from Ah-Ning that Ye Xun would most likely continue and become a graduate student at T University. What will you do then?”
He Yu didn’t think about this problem because it depends on Ye Xun’s decision. After all, going abroad to study wasn’t uncommon nowadays.
“Whether she chooses to prepare for the postgraduate examination or go abroad will be up to her.” She replied.
“I don’t think she’ll go abroad. Most students who plan to go abroad would’ve left two to three years ago. Our domestic education is not worse than those foreign countries. T University is a good school, they rank among the best in the world for mechanical engineering majors. Moreover, you don’t need to rely on a professional degree to support your relationship.” Jiang Yun analyzed, and then, feeling that they had strayed from the initial conversation and so changed the subject, “How was the shop’s profit last year?”
He Yu held up four fingers, “Monthly average.”
“You are one rich lady…” Jiang Yun tutted.
“Ready to buy a house in April.”
“Work hard so I can hug your big thigh later!*.”
He Yu couldn’t help but laugh, “Okay.”

On the tenth day, Ye Xun returned to Chongqing, and He Yu went to Jingbei airport to pick her up. Ye Xun was dressed elegantly, her long legs and height made her even more attractive despite the almost shoulder-length short hair that was tied up half-heartedly. In her right hand, she held a suitcase, and in the left, she held a bouquet of roses. When she walked out and saw He Yu, she hugged her fiercely.
There were lots of people passing by, and they glanced curiously at the two.
He Yu patted her back, “Alright, let’s go back.”
She felt a bit embarrassed because, after all, they were still in the middle of a crowded, open space. Ye Xun hummed in agreement, lifted her hands, and straightened, her lips lightly brushing He Yu’s cheeks.
He Yu noticed, looked up at her, and grabbed the roses as Ye Xun very naturally, grabbed her hand.
After dinner, He Yu actively asked Ye Xun to stay for the night.
Ye Xun saw that He Yu was reading an article on furniture decoration, and asked while moving the pillow, “Which ones are you going to buy?”
He Yu put down her phone and lifted her waist in response, “Still looking.”
“I’m going back to Beijing next year,” Ye Xun pulled down her trousers and leaned down to kiss her soft lips, “I’m going there for graduate school.”
The warm and numbing touch made He Yu feel satisfied but also a little bit empty. She grabbed Ye Xun’s shoulder and kissed back.
After a while, Ye Xun pinned her to the bed.
“Make sure to study diligently,” she lowered her neck slightly and grasped the pillow. “Later, when … I’ll have time …Ahnn~… come visit you …”
Ye Xun pressed against her back, leaned close to her ear, and whispered: “Okay…”
