Chapter 15 Unexpected Twist
"Limited edition KTN Duke 450..." Maximus looked at Chris in shock, last few minutes of the conversation played in his mind again and he felt ashamed of himself.
"Y-you bought it with your own money?" Maximus asked to Chris in shock.
"Yeah," Chris aswell shrugged, he wanted to see Maximus's reaction after knowing this.
"That's..." Maximus started but unlike Chris's expectation, "That's so awesome! You bought it with your own money! What do you do?!" Maximus asked excitedly, his previous snobbish personality vanished.
"Huh?" Chris blanked out, this sudden change? what the hell?!
"Come on, I know I might have come off as a rude brat, but, I am not like that." Maximus clarified, although his clarification just made Chris want to beat him to a pulp.
"So, what do you do??" Maximus asked again, his tone was still friendly and casual.
"Business." still weirded out by the switch, Chris gave a short reply.
"Business? That's awesome! actually, I was going to start a business myself!"
"I see, that's good."
"You must have a big business right?"
" You can say that." Chris nodded,
"Hmm, and by your looks, although a bit less than me you are quite decent. Do you have a girlfriend?" Maximus asked casually, not finding it weird to be so personal and narcissistic with the person he was just making fun of.

"No," Chris gave a short reply again and thought, 'What's with this guy?! He is so weird!'
"What?! That's a disgrace!" Maximus suddenly got hyped and said, "My friend is single? Impossible!"
'Friend? excuse me??' Chris gave a weird look and asked, "Friend? Me?"
" Yeah, duh. Who else?" Maximus stated as if it was obvious.
"When did this happen?!"
"Just now. Anyways, making a girlfriend is an art, but keeping a girlfriend is a talent."
"Uhh, my bike is done. I am just gonna go, bye." Chris tried to escape but, his hand was caught by Maximus.
" Wait! I got some friends I can introduce you to." Maximus tempted.
"I have a date planned tomorrow, I don't need introductions."
"That's my boy! So, for a successful date, I have some tips aswell, are you interested?"
"..." Chris stopped trying to pull himself away from Maximus and began thinking that it was actually a great idea, after all, he knew nothing about romance.
"Perfect!" Maximus grinned as Chris sat on the sofa near Maximus's chair.
"So here's what you should do..."
Maximus and Chris kept chatting for some more time and Chris realized that Maximus wasn't a bad guy, once he realizes someone as his friend, he won't show his snobby side!
"Well, thanks for the tips." Chris thanked with genuine gratitude, he actually learned some stuff by talking to Maximus.
"Haha, no thanks in friends. Let's exchange numbers and also my friends can call me Max." Max smiled.
"Sure." Chris also shrugged, he no longer was repulsed by this guy after knowing him for some time.
Chris took out his battered pathetic phone that caught Max's attention, "Chris, what's with that phone?! I won't allow my friends to have such a bad phone!"
" Ah this, it fell from my pocket today and cracked. I already ordered a new one tho." Chris lied easily and hid the fact that this had been his smartphone for years!
"Ohh, you should keep a spare one too. Which one did you order though?" Max flashed two slick latest smartphones and asked.
"M Phone-14+," Chris told the system reward he was going to get after improving his living conditions.
"What?! 14+! Damn, you sure are a big businessman huh? I wanted it too but, the import charges were too high and such a latest phone is impossible in our mobile stores!" Maximus widened his eyes and went back to his chattering mode.
"Haha, anyways, I really got to go now." Chris tried to escape again in case his lies to be a big shot gets caught.
"Hey! Where do you live? Wait! I will call you, okay?" Max kept shouting while Chris collected his bike keys from the staff and ran away from Max.
"What a weird guy," Chris muttered with a chuckle as he walked to his bike. The two white colored bikes were still standing in the backside of the showroom, their mere presence easily overshadowed any other bikes in the backyard.
*click* Chris placed a helmet on his head and clicked the straps. With an excited face, he inserted the key in the Keyport and twisted it.
Coming with the feature of a silent start, the bike didn't make too much noise after turning the key.
*vroom*
Chris placed the bike on 1st gear and slowly left the clutch, but due to being not so experienced, the bike jerked a little and turned off.
"Tsk" Chris clicked his tongue and turned the bike on again, he again placed it on 1st gear and slowly released the clutch.
*vroom*
Bike's engine made a low roar as it slowly began to speed up and move from its place, Chris instantly placed it on 2nd gear and rotated the accelerator to its max
*Vroom!*
Bike's engine roared and the bike picked the pace, slowly reaching high speed as Chris kept making laps around a small track in KTN Showroom's backyard.
After having nearly half an hour of fuel-burning session and satisfying his teenage hormones, Chris signed all the remaining documents and completed the buying process.
...
*VROOM*
A flamboyant bike raced through the roads, weaving its way through the traffic and its engine roaring, asserting its dominance over every other vehicle on road.
The biker's black blazer flapped wildly in the air as he ran his new bike to its maximum possible speed in the traffic.
*skiddd*
However, the driver suddenly stopped the bike at the side making dark black skid marks all over the cemented road.
"SHIT! I forgot the clothes at the showroom!" Chris banged the bike's muscular body with a very annoyed and pissed-off expression.
"Dammit!" Chris threw a few more curses and turned his bike around again, the mood of racing and showing off his new bike completely washed off.
...
"Thank you for keeping these safe!" Chris thanked politely the staff lady who by chance found his two polybags and kept them aside in lost and found.
"Umm, i-if you are so thankful th-then give me your number..." the staff lady asked shyly, a pink hue on her rosy cheeks.
"Sure," Chris smiled and wrote down his number on a tissue paper, and then after thanking her one last time, he left.
"Sigh... I am way too late..." Chris checked the time and thought about his scary twin sister...
