This Childhood Sweetheart is a Little Sweet

Chapter 81

Chapter 81

The plump, juicy red cherries glistened and looked round and adorable.

Jiang Wei handed Yi Ming the blue lunchbox filled with cherries, softly saying, "Don't eat too much, eating too much fruit can cause heatiness."

Yi Ming straightened his back and leaned against the swaying hospital bed. He shook his arm and gestured towards Jiang Wei, "Ow, my arm hurts, what's going on... I must have broken a bone..."

Jiang Wei paused for a moment, concerned, "Where does it hurt? Let me take a look."

He extended his arm to her, and Jiang Wei's fair hands gently pressed down on his arm a couple of times. "It doesn't look like an injury, the doctor said earlier that your bones aren't broken, it's just some superficial skin abrasions..."

"Is that so?" Yi Ming blinked calmly, saying slowly, "Then the doctor must not be skilled enough to detect it, ow... it hurts so much, I can barely lift my arm..."

Jiang Wei frowned slightly, carefully placing Yi Ming's arm back on the bed, and turned to leave, "I'll go call the doctor."

"Hey, don't go..."

Yi Ming panicked and hurriedly pulled her back with his arm. Jiang Wei looked at his seemingly "strong" arm in surprise. Yi Ming froze, realizing he might have given himself away...

Oh no!

He can't let this chance slip away...

Yi Ming quickly withdrew his arm, clutching his elbow and wailing, "Jiang Xiaowei, look what you made me do, I pulled my arm again trying to stop you."

Jiang Wei saw right through his "scheme" but didn't call him out just yet. She smiled faintly, "Yi Xiaowu, if you don't want me to get the doctor, but you keep shouting that you're in pain... then what exactly do you want?"

"I want you to feed me cherries," the shameless person turned and smiled boldly.

"You should've just said so," Jiang Wei sat down calmly, wiped her hands with a tissue, plucked a cherry, and held it to his mouth, "Patients should be treated this way."

Seeing his "scheme" succeed, Yi Ming's heart bloomed with happiness.

He opened his mouth with squinted eyes, eagerly awaiting the juicy cherry, but to his surprise, nothing happened.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw the cherry in Jiang Wei's mouth as she chewed it with a sweet smile on her face, clearly enjoying the treat.

"Jiang Xiaowei!"

"Hmm?"

Jiang Wei mumbled through her mouthful of cherry.

"Didn't you say you'd feed me?"

Yi Ming opened his eyes wide, giving her a pitiful look.

"Patients should be treated like patients. I was worried you'd get heatiness, so I decided it was better if I ate it for you instead."

Jiang Wei chuckled softly, her eyes curved like a pretty crescent moon.

"Actually, these cherries are really sweet..."

"Jiang Xiaowei, you're bullying me."

"I am not."

Jiang Wei shook her head like a swaying bell, barely suppressing a smile.

At that moment, Yi's Father called, and Yi Ming huffed as he answered, "Dad, my wife-to-be is bullying me, she's eating cherries but not letting me have any, just making me watch."

Yi's Father was taken aback at first, having worried about his son's injury, but he immediately relaxed, seeing that this brat was fine, "You little rascal, always making people worry... Jiang Wei is such a good girl, how could she bully you? You must have been teasing her... Just focus on recovering, I'll come see you tomorrow..."

"No need, Jiang Wei is here."

Yi Ming smiled, delighted to be with his childhood sweetheart again...

"No, I won't be at ease..."

"Dad—"

Yi Ming turned away and whispered into the phone, "Don't come, you're not going to be a third wheel, are you..."

Yi's Father immediately understood, "Alright, go get her, son."

"Thanks Dad."

After hanging up, Jiang Wei asked curiously, "What did your uncle say?"

"Nothing much."

Yi Ming grabbed a handful of cherries and stuffed them into his mouth, the corners of his eyes crinkling with pure joy.
