Transmigrate to another world

Chapter 72: Ruby & Drog [ 2 ]

Riverbank, Ruby's P.O.V.

"What, how many?"

Drog says "I didn't stop to count, but I'm guessing about fifty."

"Fifty? That might be too many, what should we do?"

Drog says "Kill them all, of course!".

"I'm not sure I can kill fifty by myself."

Drog says "You're not alone, I'll help you kill them."

"What can you do, puppy?"

Drog growls at me and tries to be fierce and scary. But he still looks like a puppy throwing a tantrum. Even though I enjoy teasing him, he's still a demon.

"Let's have a contest then. Let's see who kills the most humans."

Drog says "It's not much of a challenge, but if you want to be humiliated, Blue, I'll be happy to do it."

"Should we leave the master alone?"

Drog says "He'll be fine, just drag him into those bushes over there."

I look at Drog, then at the bushes and shrug. I reach down and slide my arms under my master and try to lift him up.

"Ugh, why does he have to be so heavy!"

Drog says "Stop pretending, you love having an excuse to have your arms around him."

"Que....What do you mean?"

Drog says "Oh, don't give me that! I've seen the way you look at him and it disgusts me."

I fight with all my might against the urge to set Drog on fire. He must have seen it in my eyes because he quickly moves away from me. I finish dragging Klein into the bushes and then go in search of humans to hurt.

I quickly find the first human, he's carrying a torch! How easily can they do this? He doesn't even see me before my blades take him down, is human eyesight that bad? It's not even fully dark yet. This is going to be too easy!

With my heat vision, the torches stand out like beacons and I dance from one to the next cutting down the humans with such ease that I feel bad for them. Then I remember that they are here to hunt my master, I stop feeling bad and continue to cut them down.

Just as I cut down my sixteenth human I hear a scream in the distance. Drog is probably being careless, none of my kills have managed to make any noise. Now the humans are shouting at each other, which makes it even easier to find them.

The humans yell "Gather round!!! Gather round with me!!! Gather round!!!".

The next two humans I knock down head in the direction of the voice. If they all gather together, it will be very easy to finish them off, so I head towards the voice as well.

There are twelve humans gathered when I reach the area of the voice, I immediately recognize one as the captain of the first group. The man next to him, though not as well dressed, is the source of the voice. He has an aura of command, I'll have to be careful with this one.

I could shoot them all, but that wouldn't be fun and Drog might try to call it a trap. So I charge the group and start dancing with my swords. The first two go down before anyone even notices I'm there.

Twisting and turning, I take down four more in a matter of seconds; my swords go through their armor like paper. I should remember to thank the master again for this. Now that there are six left, I see the captain turn to flee again.

Not this time, I leap over the remaining humans to catch the coward. I slash him with both swords to make sure. Then I turn again to the remaining five, who barely turn around trying to follow my movements.

I focus on the four soldiers, leaving the commander for last, dodge their slow blows and every time I swing one of my swords another human dies. Four hits and four deaths and only the commander and I are left.

When he swings his sword, I step back and strike the sword. I cut it just above the hilt and, as he raises the shield, I punch him hard. The shield dents and the commander goes flying backwards and crashes into a tree. He falls to the ground without moving, but I see that he is still breathing.

Drog appears running through the trees, stops and looks around. He notices that the commander is still alive and walks towards him.

"No, leave him alive."

Drog says "Why, I thought we were going to kill them all?"

"He is the leader, I think the master would like to ask him some questions."

Drog says "Okay. How many have you killed?"

"Twenty-nine. how about you?"

Drog grunts and says "Fifteen."

"That only makes forty-four, we're six short."

Drog says "They had horses before, maybe they left them to guard the horses?"

"Well, go find them and kill them, I'll take him back to camp."

Drog rushes off eagerly to kill the last of the humans, while I pick up the commander and head back to the river bank. Once there I strip him of his armor, and the four daggers he has hidden. I try to grab some rope from the master's bag but it's empty, so I tie him up with vines.

A few minutes later, Drog returns with a satisfied look on his face.

Drog says "I killed all six, but the horses ran away."

"All right, start dragging the carcasses over here."

Drog says "Why do I have to do it?"

"Because you lost, those six put you with twenty-one against my twenty-nine."

Drog grumbles but heads off to do as I told him. A minute later I hear a groan, I turn to look at the commander but he hasn't moved. Then I hear rustling in the bushes.

"Master!"
