Chapter 107

Chapter 107 - Mountain's Echo

The speaker was a middle-aged man from Refluyburg, dressed in a crisp suit. “If you've infiltrated Ubliasia, then be ready to face death,” Shao Hua stated icily.

“Hmph, if you're seeking death, it's not my fault,” Moulton retorted, eyeing the elegant Shao Hua with avarice. “It's been quite some time since I've savored the blood of a Castoace woman.”

His words revealed a past steeped in such dark experiences.

“Then prepare to meet your end,” Shao Hua declared, charging at Moulton. In a flash, she was at his side, delivering a swift side kick.

Her attack was ferocious, imperious, and piercing.

Moulton, with a white glove on his right hand, deflected the blow with ease, rendering her formidable strength into nothingness. He then reached for Shao Hua's ankle.

Shao Hua executed a deft aerial twist to evade his grasp.

The brief skirmish had made it clear to Shao Hua that Moulton was a formidable opponent. Thus, she ceased to conceal her full capabilities.

With another side kick from Shao Hua, Moulton stumbled backward, blood seeping from his gloved palm.

“Vital spirit released, Mountain's Echo,” she proclaimed, her power evident.

Without a word, Shao Hua surged towards Moulton with the swiftness of lightning.

Moulton dodged and weaved, yet he couldn't penetrate Shao Hua's defenses.

“Cursed,” he muttered.

As Shao Hua's punch aimed for his heart, Moulton caught it single-handedly. Surprise flickered in Shao Hua's eyes as she sensed an abrupt surge in Moulton's strength.

The reason became clear in an instant. A pair of wings materialized behind Moulton, and his features twisted into something monstrous.

”Vampire,” he stated coldly, locking eyes with Shao Hua. “You've compelled me to reveal my true form. That's the gravest mistake you've made in your life.”

“Are you sure it's not too soon for such words?” Shao Hua countered, her vital spirit intensifying on her fist. Despite his transformation, Moulton was still pushed back three paces.

After undergoing his transformation, Moulton vanished in an instant. Moments later, his claws reached out towards Shao Hua's back.

Shao Hua deftly stepped back, then extended her hand to seize Moulton's arm, gently pulling him to the side.

Moulton found himself involuntarily moving with Shao Hua's guidance.

Suddenly, Shao Hua's movements intensified. She grasped Moulton's arm and slammed it down onto the concrete with great force.

Moulton emitted a cry of agony.

Shao Hua's pristine palm morphed into a razor-sharp blade and struck at his chest.

As soon as her hand withdrew, she delivered another swift slash to his chest.

In just a few seconds, Shao Hua had delivered six consecutive palm strikes.

Moulton coughed up a mouthful of blood, his eyes wide with terror.

Despite his injuries, he forced himself to stand and, with a flap of his wings, took to the sky.

Shao Hua soared after him, capturing one of Moulton's wings in her grasp. She then executed the Heavy Fall technique, dragging Moulton back to the ground with brute force.

“Do you think you can escape?” Shao Hua asked coldly, her gaze piercing. “Did I give you permission?”

“Lady, why must you be so relentless? Can't you spare him just this once?” At that moment, a middle-aged man in a white robe emerged.

“It's truly astonishing that a member of the Sanctuary would intercede on behalf of a vampire,” Shao Hua remarked, locking eyes with the man in white.

“To be precise, this vampire is an undercover agent for the Sanctuary. So, I would ask that you release him for my sake, Chief Shao.”

“I'm sorry, but I owe you no favors,” Shao Hua replied with unyielding authority.

“Moulton is an important operative for the Sanctuary. It is imperative that he remains unharmed,” the man in the white robe stated gravely.

“Then perhaps you can enlighten me as to why Moulton was infiltrating my homeland?” Shao Hua challenged.

At a loss for words, the white-robed man fell silent.

“Furthermore, Moulton has previously fed on the blood of a young girl from my country. In my eyes, that makes him deserving of death.”

“If that's your stance, it seems we have nothing further to discuss,” the man in white declared, stepping forward with a stern expression.

“That's correct,” Shao Hua confirmed with a nod.

“Well then, please forgive my forwardness.” The man in the white robe suddenly erupted in a blinding white light that transformed into a silver-white spear. Grasping the spear in one hand, he lunged at Shao Hua with a straightforward thrust.

Shao Hua's face took on a grave expression. The man's assault left her immobilized, forcing her to confront the attack directly. As the spear neared, Shao Hua seized the shaft with both hands. Twisting her hands around the spear twice, she managed to dissipate much of its formidable energy. With a swift sidestep, she evaded the strike.

“You actually avoided it,” the middle-aged man in white exclaimed, astonished.

“Now, witness my true strength,” Shao Hua declared, advancing quickly. She tapped the man's spear shaft with her palm, and a fearsome power surged through the spear, causing him to falter in his grip.

In the moment his hold weakened, Shao Hua wrested the spear from his grasp. With a swift rotation, she aimed the spear at the man's chest. Defying expectation, he recklessly swatted at Shao Hua's shoulder.

A chill flashed in Shao Hua's eyes. Even if he struck her shoulder, she was determined to impale his heart. But as the spear was about to penetrate the man's chest, Shao Hua's expression shifted dramatically. The spear vanished without a trace, and she continued her forward momentum.

The man's palm then made contact with Shao Hua's shoulder. Caught off guard, she stumbled backward, weakened. As a smirk of triumph began to form on the man's face, he saw Shao Hua's toes deftly kick his wrist.

His wrist snapped under the impact. Simultaneously, Shao Hua's shoulder blade was shattered by the man's forceful blow.

Both parties were wounded, but Shao Hua's injuries were notably more severe. She stumbled backward, annoyance etched on her face as she said, “I forgot that your spear is an energy construct.”

“This oversight seals your fate; you're going to die here today,” declared the man in the white robe as he advanced toward Shao Hua.

Shao Hua involuntarily retreated. If the battle persisted, it was highly probable that she would meet her end right there.

As Shao Hua backed away, Moulton cut off her escape route. “Weren't you full of bravado a moment ago?” Moulton bellowed with laughter.
