Chapter 109
Chapter 109 - Don't Know the Rules
A young man and woman were engaged in a passionate sexual encounter.
Ye Hao was completely taken aback.
Not daring to linger, Ye Hao quickly exited the room.
Once outside, it took him a moment to regain his composure.
Ye Hao waited there for a short time.
Roughly three minutes later, Shan Lei appeared before him.
He handed Ye Hao an invisible earpiece, saying, “Stay in contact at all times.”
Ye Hao put on the earpiece and nodded in agreement.
“The Soong family has considerable prestige in Glento, so you must secure evidence of Soong Yu's dealings with the Lower Shadow Warrior.”
“Where's Soong Yu now?” inquired Ye Hao.
“In room 705.”
“Got it.” After parting ways with Shan Lei, Ye Hao headed for room 705.
Upon reaching the door, he activated his X-ray Vision ability.
Inside, Soong Yu was reclining on the bed, watching television. Nothing seemed amiss.
Ye Hao refrained from using his X-ray Vision further. Instead, he used a room card to open the door to room 715.
He glanced around the room briefly before lying down on the bed to rest.
About thirty minutes later, Ye Hao heard Shan Lei's voice.
“There's a problem with room 705. All our surveillance equipment has been disabled.”
Ye Hao immediately activated his X-ray Vision and clairaudience abilities.
In room 705, besides Soong Yu, there was a young man dressed in black.

The youth was completely shrouded in black fabric, his head included.
He was holding a black ballpoint pen that was sparking with electricity.
“This is our country's latest anti-surveillance device. It can jam all electronic surveillance,” explained the youth in black. “Now we can discuss the details of our collaboration.”
“I'll establish a blood bank as you've requested, but you need to provide sufficient funding.”
“May I hear your plan?”
“We'll offer free health check-ups and blood tests to students at various institutions. I believe many will be open to the idea.”
The youth in black nodded and replied, “Excellent. How much funding will you need?”
“I need a billion.”
“That's excessive.”
“If you find that excessive, then there's no point in further discussion.”
The youth clad in black mulled it over and then nodded. “Fine. But I do have one condition. You must establish this blood bank quickly.”
“May I inquire what you need Ubliasian blood samples for?”
“That's not for you to know.”
Afterward, they shifted to small talk. Ye Hao tuned out.
“I've figured out what they're collaborating on,” Ye Hao informed Shan Lei.
“What?”
“The Putbard family has tasked Soong Yu with collecting Ubliasian blood samples.”
Shan Lei fell silent for a moment, then spoke gravely, “The Putbard family is funding a biopharmaceutical venture in Reshaerus. My guess is they're looking to develop gene-based drugs.”
“We'll confirm it once we apprehend the Lower Shadow Warrior.”
“Shadow warriors excel in stealth and assassination, so you must exercise caution.”
“Don't worry.” Ye Hao reassured him and then re-engaged his X-ray Vision. He observed the shadow warrior hastily exiting Soong Yu's room.
Ye Hao stealthily pursued the shadow warrior.
Gang Cun walked on, sensing he was being trailed.
Yet, whenever he glanced back, he saw nothing. After several instances, he grew uneasy.
As Gang Cun passed a room, someone burst forth, seizing his throat and hauling him inside.
Gang Cun gaped at the young man before him, astounded.
He realized, “This young man's martial prowess surpasses my own.”
Without a moment's delay, Ye Hao shattered Gang Cun's shoulder blade.
Gang Cun shrieked in agony.
“To think a shadow warrior would fear pain,” Ye Hao remarked with a chuckle.
Gang Cun, grasping the situation, knew Ye Hao had come prepared.
“Who are you?” Gang Cun demanded.
“Room 304,” Ye Hao communicated through his earpiece.
Shortly, several agents from the Martial Arts Bureau arrived.
“You're skilled in interrogation, aren't you?” Ye Hao inquired.
“We've got this,” Shan Lei said with a grin, cracking his knuckles.
Ye Hao slapped Gang Cun's stomach and handed him over to Shan Lei.
Gang Cun could feel his vital spirit ebbing away, panic etched across his face.
“You've destroyed my cultivation?”
“Yes.”
“I'll kill you!” Gang Cun lunged at Ye Hao, but with his cultivation gone, he was no match for Shan Lei and the other Martial Arts Bureau agents.
Ye Hao was astonished that despite the severe torture, Gang Cun remained silent, not uttering a single word.
“Captain, this man is incredibly stubborn,” Shan Lei said with a wry smile. “He's passed out three times under our interrogation.”
“I'm not one for torture,” Ye Hao replied, shaking his head.
“If he won't talk, we'll have to proceed by the book,” Shan Lei stated gravely.
“Execute him?”
“Yes.”
“It's your call.”
“What about Soong Yu?”
“I'll uncover the evidence. Just be ready to apprehend him.”
“Understood.”
Ye Hao then left the room and made his way to the grand hall on the ground floor.
The hall was filled with elite figures from Glento's political and business circles.
He casually picked up a glass of red wine and savored a sip. It was quite good.
Out of the corner of his eye, Ye Hao noticed Leng Xue, who was the center of attention among a group of beautiful women.
Dressed in a white gown, Leng Xue was engaging in lively conversation with the women.
“She's definitely from a distinguished family,” Ye Hao mused to himself.
Leng Xue was adeptly conversing with several ladies at once, ensuring none felt neglected—a testament to her high emotional intelligence.
As Leng Xue was discussing skincare products with a young lady, she suddenly caught sight of Ye Hao approaching.
“Leng Xue,” Ye Hao said, offering her a glass of red wine.
Taking the glass, Leng Xue looked at him in surprise. “What brings you here?”
“Just bored and thought I'd check things out,” Ye Hao replied, clinking his glass against hers.
“Don't stir up trouble,” Leng Xue cautioned.
Ye Hao chuckled. “Do I really seem like the type to cause a scene?”
“Leng Xue, who is this gentleman?” inquired a beautiful lady standing next to Leng Xue, smiling.
Despite the smile on her face, Ye Hao sensed a profound hostility emanating from the woman.
Upon closer inspection, Ye Hao realized why.
She bore a resemblance to Soong Yu. It was highly probable that she was Soong Yu's sister.
“He's my student,” Leng Xue said in a gentle tone.
The moment Leng Xue's words fell, the hostility in Soong Hui's eyes noticeably diminished. Yet, she maintained an air of arrogance as she remarked, “These days, young people truly have no sense of propriety.”
