Chapter 155
Chapter 155 - Someone from General Administration of Sport
Ye Hao is one of the wealthiest students at our school. He recently won a whopping five million yuan in the Proverb Championship.”
“Just this morning at the sports meet, Ye Hao shattered eight world records. The school has reported his achievements to the General Administration of Sport. I wouldn't be surprised if they send someone to scout him soon. Ye Hao could very well be recruited into the national team.”
“When that happens, Ye Hao will be a world champion in multiple disciplines.”
“Liu Xiang made tens of millions of yuan after winning the 110m hurdles championship. If Ye Hao clinches all the championships, his net worth could skyrocket into the hundreds of millions.”
“The woman who marries a man like that is truly the ultimate winner in life!”
“We might not stand a chance of marrying Ye Hao, but being his mistress wouldn't be the worst option.”
“That's utterly disgraceful!”
“Have you even tried to add Ye Hao on QQ?” chimed in another beauty. Meixue listened to the three girls gossiping in the dorm room, feeling quite upset.
Because of Meixue's weight, they didn't just ridicule her; they also excluded her.
“Meixue, where did Ye Hao take you out to eat today?” a good-looking girl inquired.
“The Stardust Hotel.”
“The Stardust Hotel?” the girl gasped, “That's incredibly lavish!”
“It was just a buffet,” Meixue clarified with a shake of her head.
“Oh, a buffet.” The girl seemed somewhat relieved, then remarked, “Ye Hao's so wealthy, yet he only treated you to a buffet. How miserly of him.”
“The Stardust Hotel's buffet costs 998 RMB per person,” Meixue informed her.

The girl was taken aback.
She had assumed the Stardust Hotel's buffet would cost somewhere between 100 to 200 RMB per person, as she was accustomed to buffets priced at 58 RMB per person.
“Meixue, do you have Ye Hao's contact details?”
“People on the forums leaked Ye Hao's phone and QQ numbers a while ago,” Meixue explained, pausing briefly.
“Ye Hao has disabled friend requests on QQ and set his phone to automatically reject calls from unknown numbers.”
“You have no idea how obsessed the girls at our school are over him.”
“It's not just our school's girls; people nationwide are trying to contact him. If he hadn't set those restrictions, his phone would never stop ringing.”
“It seems that Ye Hao has no intention of getting close to Meixue. He probably won't be inviting her out for meals anymore.”
“Basically, Meixue isn't worth Ye Hao's close friendship.”
Meixue, overhearing the conversation of the three girls, finally understood why Ye Hao had set his phone to automatically reject calls from unknown numbers. But as she listened to their subsequent remarks, she couldn't help feeling angry.
It was downright insulting.
Meixue opened her mouth to argue, but in the end, all she could do was let out a resigned sigh.
Accompanied by Zhang Lan, Ye Hao arrived at the competition venue, ready to take part in the 5000-meter race.
Ye Hao was taken aback to see dozens of professional staff members at the site, each busy with specialized equipment, making adjustments in various sections of the track.
At that moment, the Dean of Administration from Riverdale College approached Ye Hao with a middle-aged man. “Ye Hao, this is Liao Sheng from the General Administration of Sport of Ubliasia,” he introduced.
Liao Sheng, the deputy director of the General Administration of Sport, wielded significant power.
Yet, Liao Sheng was not content with his current position. He aspired to be the director of the General Administration of Sport.
Despite his ambitions, other deputy directors shared the same goal.
Thus, they were all competing for the promotion to director.
Upon hearing a report from one of his subordinates about Ye Hao, Liao Sheng immediately flew by private jet to Riverdale College. If Ye Hao was as talented as reported, he would have uncovered a rising star in the world of sports. With Ye Hao's potential, Liao Sheng could even ascend to the position of director of the General Administration of Sport, or perhaps even higher.
“Director Liao,” greeted Ye Hao, looking at Liao Sheng.
Liao Sheng smiled and shook hands with Ye Hao.
“I'm here to witness the prowess of Ubliasia's athletes,” Liao Sheng said gently.
“Director Liao, you're in for a treat,” Ye Hao replied confidently.
“Good,” Liao Sheng responded, his eyes gleaming with expectation.
Ye Hao's confidence suggested he had the capability to back it up.
At the sound of the starting pistol, Ye Hao surged ahead. The other nine runners watched him take the lead, each one thinking, “Is Ye Hao crazy? This is a 5000-meter race. He shouldn't be running this fast right out of the gate.”
Liao Sheng paused momentarily and asked, “Has Ye Hao never run 5000 meters before?”
“Ye Hao maintained this pace during the 3000-meter race this morning,” the Academic Affairs Director said with a wry smile.
Had Liao Sheng not witnessed Ye Hao's race earlier, he might have thought the same.
Liao Sheng's mouth hung open in astonishment.
Yet, the most shocking revelation was still to come.
After watching for just ten seconds, he was astounded to see that Ye Hao's speed was consistently fast.
One lap down, and Ye Hao was still speeding along.
Two laps completed, and Ye Hao's pace was unchanging.
Seven laps in, and there was no sign of slowing.
After eight laps, the nine competing athletes were dumbfounded.
Ye Hao was still maintaining an incredibly fast speed, having lapped them four times.
The 5000-meter race consists of twelve laps, and Ye Hao had already outpaced them by four!
As Ye Hao ran, a crowd of students gathered around, all aware that his performance had caught the attention of the top brass at the General Administration of Sport.
If any students had previously doubted Ye Hao's prowess, their skepticism vanished as they watched the 800-meter race, realizing the rumors were indeed true.
Ye Hao truly possessed such talent.
When Ye Hao completed ten laps, Liao Sheng hurried to the finish line, eager to see the final time.
As Ye Hao crossed the finish line, the precise time flashed on the computer screen: 7 minutes and 66 seconds.
Liao Sheng was utterly stunned by the number; the world record for the 800 meters stood at 12 minutes and 37 seconds.
Ye Hao had shattered the world record.
It took Liao Sheng a moment to come to terms with the reality. Meanwhile, Ye Hao approached with a serene demeanor.
“Liao Sheng.”
Looking at Ye Hao's composed face, Liao Sheng exclaimed in surprise, “You haven't even tapped into your full potential.”
An athlete who had just run 5000 meters should be gasping for air.
But Ye Hao appeared effortlessly at ease, as if it were just another day.
“I'd rather not draw too much attention,” Ye Hao said with a smile.
At that point, Liao Sheng found himself at a loss for words.
“Ye Hao, I formally invite you to join the national team,” Liao Sheng stated solemnly.
“I'm not interested,” Ye Hao responded dismissively, without a moment's hesitation.
“Why?” Liao Sheng inquired, clearly perplexed by the rejection.
