Vampire Nightlife

Chapter 6 Blood Bartending And The Forbidden RH Null

Lukas stepped out of the Hunter Association with nothing more but a light smile on his face. He checked his bracer and allowed the digital screen to hover above him again as the two other Professions appeared.

"Alright, time to job hunt elsewhere–let's try Bartending first," he said.

After all, what was more enticing than simply making drinks? An idea curled in his head as well.

"Where the drinks are–the women are going to be there too."

It was why when he arrived at the Vampire's Lounge Bar, he found himself surprised when a sickly sweet scent filled his nose.

Lukas' eyes widened when he stepped into the bar and saw the patrons of the establishment.

In each cup or goblet from every Vampire's hands were a liquid filled with red blood.

"Hah… that smells realistically." Lukas tried not to gag slightly at the smell and yet his stomach growled slightly.

"Ah, so you're here for the job?" One sharply dressed man went out and approached him.

"O-oh yes." Lukas nodded.

He thought that he already wore stylishly even with his starting wardrobe attire–but when the women were wearing shimmery backless dresses, exposing their back and even rear to the world along with other finely dressed gentlemen?

You kind of stood out.

In the underdressed way.

"Well then follow me to the back." The gentleman did not bother with introductions but Lukas only silently followed him into a separate room.

It was a spacious area that might have truly resembled a kitchen, and as Lukas stepped inside–he felt a coldness overtake him.

"A little frosty isn't it?" the older Vampire man said as they continued to walk to a large metal vault. "We keep it that way to keep the blood fresh."

Ah.

So that was the twist here–Lukas expected alcohol, spritzy drinks and other fancy bartending affairs, even a little flambé technique around a shot glass, a fun bartending game–but since he was playing a Vampire game, he was going to use blood as the medium for drinks.

"I hope you're not prone to losing self-control."

"No, Sir."

"Good. We'll get to see how true that is, some old employees went crazy and tried to drink our entire blood supply–" the Vampire man chuckled and motioned to the lock. "Try opening it."

Lukas didn't think he'd use his strength, but as he pulled the heavy metal to open it–he exerted a lot of strength.

Around the same level he'd done for the third totem head.

"A strong one aren't you?" the old Vampire laughed as his eyes twinkled. "If you succeed–I might just find myself an apprentice."

When Lukas opened the room, it turned out to be dark like what you'd expect from a fridge.

Except there were no lights–it was unnecessary for a Vampire that lived their entire lives in dwelling in the darkness. Or rather for only their kind.

"We got all types of blood–humans tend to classify it into letter types, A, B, O, AB which can be positive and negative. But there's a little variety, we classify the age of the blood donor, the gender and even their lifestyle and diet–it produces different flavors."

"Noted, Sir. I'll familiarize myself with them." Lukas nodded. "Though I did hear that there was an extremely rare blood type. It's called the RH Null–"

"Best not bring that up, boy. Even if it were available here–I won't let you touch that kind of blood unless I want to get obliterated by the investors, and then afterwards, I'll destroy you."

"I-Is that so?" Lukas blinked–his heart pounded slightly despite it only being a game.

"Of course. It's so rare that only–well, just familiarize yourself and read the labels. If you try to sneak in some of your Inventory unpaid, I'd make you regret it alright?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Good, I think I'm hearing from one of the clients." The Vampire's ear twitched. "If you do this well and remember where all the blood is located when I get back–Daddy Jones will hire you."

"O-oh great." Lukas rubbed the back of his head and watched the man leave.

When he was sure that the man was gone and preoccupied with dealing with his bar customers, Lukas couldn't help but mutter underneath his breath.

"What a fuckng weirdo."

The reason why Lukas didn't choose the Civil Servant job was because he didn't want to do paperwork–and again, the thought of mixing drinks and meeting with hot Vampire women was enticing.

However, the job seemed to require a lot of memorization.

Lukas sighed and stepped inside of the fridge–taking in the labels and memorizing their places. It wasn't that hard to do for some reason.

Even though he was not the sharpest individual, somehow it felt like his brain could absorb the information fast.

It was pretty easy enough that he'd reach the end of the aisle of blood and it was there that he noticed something odd in the shadows.

The crate was shoved into the darkness and would have not been recognizable.

"Hah, is that where they keep the RH Null?" Lukas chuckled as he glanced over his shoulders.

He couldn't see or hear the employer, so he stepped closer to it and knelt down.

"Don't people know that if you leave a crate sealed–it's all the more that you want to open it yourself?" Lukas said.

When Lukas opened the crate–out of all the things he did expect, nothing was more disturbing than seeing a naked woman stuffed inside of the box. Her lips were blue as ice and she was already dead.

"What the fuck–" Lukas stepped back and closed the lid.

He already could guess that humans were used for blood–but to store someone in a crate and shove them in the dark corner of the blood freezer was beyond damn right chilling.

Despite his body now that of a Vampire–Lukas' consciousness, the one who was aware of what he had been doing, begged him to stop–he couldn't help but still feel hurt for the young woman's sake.

"Boy!"
