Ch17 - Lord Fours Return
Chapter Ch17 - Lord Four’s Return
Victor took a ride home after dinner.
—— His legs were weak from the flirting.
The first thing he did when he got home was call out his roommate and ask him seriously about everything related to the competitive e-sports circle.
His roommate was surprised and asked, “Vic, you’re also starting to follow e-sports?”
“I want to chase my male god!” Victor grinned as he spoke. He turned over the calendar on his wall and drew a big red circle around several dates.
Roommate: “???”
The dates that Victor circled were all days that Tyron was competing, but the fact that Tyron had joined the Seven Kills Team had not been announced yet, so he could only say, “Watch the game with me. I can guarantee you’ll be surprised.”
After that, he continued to immerse himself in the joy of having had dinner with his male god and lightly floated into his room.
Roommate: “...” Vic, what’s going on with you?! Are you trying to turn into an idiot?!
...
Despite the postponement of Earth District’s A League’s individual competition, the team competition was still in full swing. Because there were more people involved, and the events were more complex, the progress of the team competition was a little slower, and the next round was the one that determined which of the top 8 teams would enter the top four.
Seven Kills VS Dreams.
Both were old, established teams, but their performance had not been strong in recent years. Last year, Seven Kills was ranked third in the league while Dreams was ranked fifth. They had both been unable to obtain the quota for the regional competition.
Even before the start of the game, some people had already developed opinions. This time, Seven Kill’s core DPS had gone home, and they wondered what his substitute would be like. They were afraid that it would be very difficult for Seven Kills to make it into the top four; perhaps they’d be defeated in this round.
.
The host finally came on stage while the audience was talking, and first made his routine announcement before moving on, “... First of all, let’s invite our—Dreams Team!”
The people from Dreams ran up on stage one by one and waved to the audience, setting off a pretty big wave of cheers.
Then, the host continued, “Our Seven Kills Team used up their only team member swap allowed during the competition last week and replaced their number one DPS position with a new person. Who is this new person? Heehee~ Let’s invite our Seven Kills Team up on stage!”

The audience waited for a long time. They watched as the main tank, deputy tank, support, second DPS and third DPS of the Seven Kills Team, whom they were all familiar with, came out, and then the sixth person...
The sixth person wore a cap, hood, and mask, and was very low profile as he went towards the end of the line, but his outstanding temperament could not be hidden. A dagger and short sword hung from his waist—apart from him, no other assassin has dared to use two different weapons in this tournament.
The scene was quiet for a moment, and someone suddenly screamed, “Lord Four!”
“Ahhhhhhhh Lord Four has returned! Lord Four came to participate in the team competitions!”
Some of them shouted, “You’re the best!”, some shouted, “Stomp down on the incidents from the past!”, and others shouted, “Please bring us with you all the way to the universal competitions! Ahhhh!”
The auditorium was boiling with excitement. Many people stood up, raised their hands and shook them in the air, and finally, they all repeated the same sentence. One after another, they shouted, “Lord Four, we love you—“
“Lord Four, we will always support you—”
After a while, the audience began to wave their neon sticks in a performance. The audience lit up from the left to right, then extinguished, then lit up from the right to left... The colorful waves finally attracted Tyron’s attention.
Tyron thought about it, then drew the index and middle fingers of his right hand together to wave outwards from his forehead in a salute—using this smart gesture as a greeting.
“AAHHHHH—” His gesture immediately triggered off another frenzy.
It was the first time that Lord Four had reacted to his audience while on stage. Many people were so excited that they wanted to jump up and scream through the roof.
The neon stick waves became even more vigorous and varied; they formed a flower petal pattern one moment, and turned into stripes in the next. The huge auditorium did not need a commander as it spontaneously displayed various tricks as though inviting Lord Four to continue watching.
Lord Four was currently thinking: The audience of this era... Although they didn’t have much moral integrity, they were occasionally quite lovely.
The host was delighted. After delaying for a long while, she finally remembered the next part of the introductions and said, “Could the two captains please represent their teams and make a declaration before the game?”
The captain of Dreams looked at the auditorium and laughed as he joined in on the fun. “Don’t scream too early. You guys watch as we suppress Lord Four in a minute.”
There were boos and hisses from the audience.
The captain of the Seven Kills Team took in the atmosphere and couldn’t be any happier. He spoke happily when he took the microphone, “Lord Four isn’t someone you can push down just because you want to.”
The audience: “Hahahaha!”
The host could not help but say, “Two captains, do you really want to use these statements as your pre-match declaration? It will be written on the official website. You haven’t even asked Lord Four if he’s willing!”
The captain of the Seven Kills Team looked back at Tyron, “Is it okay? It’s okay right~”
Tyron had his arms crossed over his chest and a calm expression on his face, but internally, he found them quite amusing, so he said, “As you like.”
Small voices of discussion rang out from the auditorium as some people said, “Tsk, how indulgent.” “You can tell who gong and shou are when they speak.”
.
Very soon, the two teams split up and were transmitted onto the competition map.
Team competitions also followed a BO3 system. The randomized map this time was: Heaven’s Aurora.
This was a very special, translucent map. The ground was made of clouds, and the mist and fog could partially conceal people. There was a solid aurora halfway in the sky that could be stepped on, but they were all half transparent and could be seen through with a glance. The aurora would also move and shift slowly over time, making the terrain very dynamic.
Randomized mode: Capture the Flag.
Capture the Flag involved fighting over a flag that would appear on the map. The two sides would compete for the flag, and for each second that they managed to hold onto it, they would score one point. When the 10-minute timer ended, the match was over and the team with the highest score won.
This mode did not have a death quota. Players would automatically resurrect after 10 seconds, and they had an unlimited number of resurrections.
.
The two teams stood on opposite sides of the map. Through the translucent aurora, they could see their opponents, as well as the flag that stood at the center of the map—a big red streamer.
At this time, the audience was laughing happily. “This mode and this map are really not a good fit 233333~”
The male commentator also spoke up, “Hahahaha, I’m afraid Lord Four is really going to be crushed this time. This map is basically a flat plain. There’s no obstructions, and nowhere to set up an ambush from.”
Female commentator: “Besides, Capture the Flag is a game of who can hold onto the flag for the longest. This mode relies primarily on the main tank and deputy tanks. Generally, a tank will grab the flag and run away while everyone else covers for him or attempts to suppress the other side.”
Male commentator: “There are also other ways to play, such as having the fastest runner take the flag and run, playing a life-and-death hide-and-seek chasing game all over the map...”
Female commentator: “In any case, Seven Kills has two fast moving members: one is their Captain and deputy tank, a scourge knight; the other is Lord Four, whose speed can explode like he’s been tied to a carrier missile.”
Male commentator: “The core member of the Dreams Team can also run really fast. Don’t forget that their paladin is a demi-angel and has a pair of wings.”
.
The countdown ended while they were talking.
As soon as the two sides were able to act, they all rushed to the flag at the center of the map.
The fastest member of the Dreams Team was their winged paladin, who flew towards the middle in a whirr of sound.
The fastest of the Seven Kills Team was the Captain scourge knight. He used a big move right at the start and summoned his nightmare horse to rush forward in a gallop.
Male commentator: “Twenty meters! Ten meters! They’re about to meet. The executioner from the Dreams Team has sent out a hook! Did it land? Did it land?!”
The hook flew across the air and over the paladin, its chain trailing behind it as it hit the scourge knight at the front of the Seven Kills Team.
Female commentator: “It hit! Oh, Seven Kills was too careless! ”
The scourge knight, along with his horse, was dragged straight into the center of the Dream Team’s formation by the hook, and was instantly surrounded by five people.
At this moment, the scourge knight’s first reaction was: I can hook, too!
Male commentator: “The scourge knight is saying: You have a hook, but laotzu also has a Grip of Punishment. He turned his head and grabbed... Oh, damn! He grabbed his own team’s Lord Four!!”
The scourge knight turned around and used a skill to pull Tyron, who was far away in the Red Team’s base camp, in front of him.
The female commentator’s face was full of confusion, “What’s the meaning of this? The scourge knight hooked one of his own team. Are the two of them trying to offer up their lives to the other team?”
.
Dreams’ paladin was still rushing ahead to grab the flags, and their number two DPS was not far behind.
The remaining four team members grinned fiercely and surrounded the scourge knight and assassin who had been captured one after another.
Male commentator: “Ouch. I really can’t understand this usage of the Grip of Punishment! Now, Seven Kills is fighting two against four. How terrible.”
Female commentator: “They probably want to delay for a while. Perhaps their teammates will get the flag first, so it’s not important whether or not they win that fight.”
Her voice had just fallen when sudden changes occurred in the field.
The scourge knight took the lead and stabbed at a DPS who was part of the encirclement.
The four people from Dreams did not hesitate in firing attacks at the scourge knight they had surrounded, bringing him off his horse and sending him into a state of <confusion>.
In the immediate aftermath, Tyron appeared like a ghost in the shadows behind the healer!
The male commentator shouted: “It’s an exchange! One for one, Lord Four can do it!”
Even before he finished speaking, Tyron had already performed a dazzling knife flower. In a twinkling of an eye, he sent out six consecutive strikes, slicing the healer into the white light of death that flew away.
After that, Tyron dove forward and ended up just behind the scourge knight. His teammate then used his body to help block Tyron from a round of injuries.
In the midst of the white light that signified the death of the scourge knight, Tyron turned around again as quick as lightning, striking from the bottom up like a hare kicking an eagle. He knocked down the sword dancer who was chasing him, and then flipped around, simultaneously plunging Deep Silence and Song of Triumph into the enemy’s throat.
The sword dancer suffered a huge amount of damage in an instant, and died from <bleed> a few seconds later.
Remember that scene in Chapter 5 where Tyron kabedon-ed Victor?
