Chapter 1894 Aftermath [2]
Chapter 1894 Aftermath [2]
It wasn't quite as people saw it. The light people saw was a bit delayed. Their perception didn't catch it, but in that single moment before it appeared, the cosmos collapsed.
It was actively collapsing in a way that could not easily be repaired now. Not because there was destruction tearing it apart, but because this was its fate from the beginning.
The Dark God was the Sacred Abyss Universe's Cosmic Core. The moment he died, it was left incomplete. How was it supposed to thrive when it did not have a brain?
Damien was forced to temporarily take his place and become the center of the cosmos. It was when he made that choice that the light began to spread.
He experimented with his power curiously. The cosmos changed according to his thoughts, giving him absolute control.
'This is why he was arrogant.'
This point of view almost forced one to believe that one was invincible. However, it was just a facade.
This power was not everything.
No, only now did Damien realize what "everything" truly was.
There was no longer such a thing as a limit. Anything he thought could become a reality. And, unlike before, he was no longer defined by a human mind. He would never again experience the problem of not being creative enough to use his power to its greatest potential.
Nothing was incomprehensible to his eyes.
Still, he took this position so he could experience what the Dark God felt.
Well, he didn't even have to do this much, did he?
The second he felt the desire for it, the information came to his head. He saw the Dark God's story not through his own eyes, but through the eyes of the cosmos itself.

He could determine only one thing.
The Dark God was his own greatest enemy.
He was the reason he found himself in such unfortunate situations. From childhood, his delusion was too intense.
Feelings were not as pronounced as they used to be. Damien definitely felt some pity, but it was muted.
The Dark God really was just ill back then. Back then, when he had no sins, if he had help…
If he had help, perhaps he could have lived an entirely satisfactory mortal life. However, as he saw when he first reached this position, there was only one possible scenario where the Dark God found himself on the right path. He was an inherently flawed being.
Damien entertained himself with such thoughts as he brought the Sacred Abyss back to stability.
Instead of creating a new Cosmic Core immediately, he first placed the cosmos in stasis and made changes.
The single habitable world was turned into a green wonderland where nature could thrive. The laws were shifted to become more accommodating, but they were not made similar to the True Void.
At the end of the day, these two cosmos had their own ways. He was not going to treat one with bias.
The laws were only tweaked back to their original form. The Dark God's influence disappeared, and finally, this cosmos reached a point where it could function again.
Damien spread energy through the lands to give life to many of the uninhabitable worlds. The ruptures in the cosmos were healed and filled with new space. He created an ecosystem that was fated to thrive and survive.
And when he was finished, he brought forth a new Cosmic Core to take the place of the one that this cosmos lost long ago.
The stasis was removed and time resumed. This was when the people of the world saw light. The changes made were solidified, and the war was put to an end.
Damien sighed to himself.
'Okay.'
The most pressing matters were dealt with. Now, the most important thing was returning.
Damien wondered how others would react to him now.
Perhaps they wouldn't be able to sense it and nothing would change. There was also a situation where he became a God in their eyes.
That was not what he wanted.
At least for the people around him, he wanted to remain the same Damien as always.
What good did it do them to know how vast his vision was?
What use was it to tell them that he could see past the planes they knew, across untold distances of emptiness in the Void?
He could see the past, present, and future of all things. He finally understood the world that the Worldwalker spent so long exploring.
It was truly magnificent. That landscape tempted him. It told him to go visit it as soon as possible to take his throne.
However, he was forced to resist. He was forced to say no to the Void because he knew that going there now would ruin him.
This was the defining moment. Now that he was Absolute, he needed to engrave into the Void his own rules and standards.
His status was important to him, sure, but it did not take precedence.
Above all was his family. Nothing and nobody would ever be able to change their position in his heart.
With that thought in mind, Damien descended to reality.
He was standing in the Sacred Abyss, but it was impossible to say that he was in the same realm as others.
He was a unique existence and he existed in a unique plane. If he wanted to be in the same place as the rest of them, he had to make a conscious effort.
Was that why the Worldwalker refused to make connections for so long? Was this separate state of existence the reason why he saw emotions as useless things?
Yes, perhaps at the beginning of his life, it was like that.
But, as Damien returned to the world, he realized that it was something else entirely after that man became Absolute.
He landed on the surface of the now-green planet and walked it until he found someone he knew. He left it up to chance as he was focused more on observing than meeting people as of now, and coincidentally enough, the first he saw was Thalia.
It had been some time since they'd last seen each other, and she had been working closely with Hestia. It would be nice to accompany her and her troops as they returned to headquarters.
That was what he wanted, but had he been too single-minded?
Why didn't he realize it until he was in front of them?
He stood there and waved at Thalia with a smile on his face, but… n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
…she walked right through him.
She walked through him like he was a ghost that didn't exist and remained completely unaware of his presence.
And if that wasn't enough…
'No…'
Damien's heart dropped for a moment. He felt a sense of emptiness that he did not expect. As all of his other emotions became more muted with every passing second, that emptiness filled every cavity in his body and mind. The reason why it was so difficult for the Worldwalker to understand emotions until he became mortal again…
The reason why he felt such boredom as an Absolute…
For Damien, who did not have those problems, it served as a reminder.
He was no longer the same as others.
And that was a truth that was not accompanied only by blessings.
