[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor

Me, necromancer and the dwarf began our research on the "Unliving Heart".

The first part was finding a right form for the heart so it can be operational.

We can use undeads, so it's an up.

However,…...Our first few prototypes were complete failures.

We did used cheap materials and everything, so it was expected not to work, but we needed the research data.

And oh boy…. It was chaotic.

The necromancer research did helped us a bit, but we were still encountering way too many problems even with that.

We not only needed to make an artificial heart, but a special one that would pump a necrotic mana through the body as well as mutate and evolve the body.

Well, this is obviously not easy, since we need to create a heart that also possess a power of the undead and corpse mana A.K.A necrotic mana and make sure it doesn't kill him.

But…. Em…. We killed some of the undeads with the failure hearts we made.

"…."

"This isn't working." – said doctor.

"Agree." – said the dwarf.

"The energy output alone is going haywire nonstop."

"There is also the question regarding the materials that the heart is made out of. They are not suitable."

"It won't work at all." – said the doctor.

"We need better materials. Metals as well as mana crystal and mana stones. Also, we need more specific parts for example monster parts as well as some stuff related to alchemy."

"We straight up are unable to gain any form of results or data."

"We can keep trying using these cheap stuff…. But how long it would take us to get any form of results."

"…."

"Fuck…. I hate to say it, but you two are right." – said the necromancer.

"…."

"Hey… Doctor."

"Yes?"

"You have your base in the city, right?"

"Can you somehow buy the necessary materials for us?"

"…."

"I can, since I'm quiet "Friendly" there and people trust me."

"But you do realize it will be pricy."

"Do you believe I have an fortune lying around?"

"And don't you even fuking suggest for me to go around and steal the materials, since it would straight up alarm people."

(Well, I'm quiet rich and I'm still earning money.)

(But I need money for my own experiments and I don't know how much I would spend while experimenting.)

(Especially those cyborg modification.)

"We cannot steal or make trouble, since it would both alarm people and some smart people may realize that maybe the person who steals the materials is maybe related to that guy kidnaping."

"In short. We cannot steal and need to just buy them like normal people."

"Do you have any money?"

"…. I have." – replied the necromancer."

"Honestly, I was thinking of getting materials through more "Illegal connections"."

"But I guess it would be cheaper if you buy it legally."

"Yea. But there is another question now." – said Phantasia.

"Do we need more specific materials? For example, alchemy materials or the monster materials?"

"True. Metals alone won't work. We need alchemy materials as well." – said the dwarf.

"Making artificial heart in the first place isn't easy nor is it cheap."

"I don't know what sort of experiment you did on small animals like the rats and those birds like you said you did, but the bigger body need way different heart and there is also the case of humanoid being like humans, elves and dwarfs having way more mana than those animals. Even non mages have more mana than as well as common folks who are just farmers."

"We need to do a lot of adjustment and tests before we try to make final product."

"And to make it all more annoying, killing or stealing is out of the table since it would ultimately fucked us quiet badly." – said Phantasia.

"…."

"Fuck." – said the necromancer.

"Fuck indeed." – said the doctor.

"Okay…. Hm…. Shit…. Okay. How about this."

"You will go in the city and secure some of the materials while I will go and hunt monsters around for their body parts as well as look for any alchemy materials." – said the necromancer.

"But what if somebody spots you?"

"Unlike you, people of this city know me, but you?"

"A total stranger who was randomly in the hunting grounds while the city is in chaos after this guy disappearance?"

"Not only that, the city often do patrols on the hunting grounds in order to make sure that their mines are safe."

"There is a good chance they would spot you in the process."

'Sigh'

"I guess I will hunt monsters myself."

(I really don't want to do it, since I want to spend as time as possible with these two to steal their knowledge and skills.)

(But at this rate we won't have any results at all.)

(Not only that, but it won't be long before they check sewers if not, they are doing as we speak.)

(To make sure that the dwarf is safe and sound and undamaged, it's for the best to work with the necromancer….)

(I really want to assassinate him right now, but there is still use for him.)

(Not only that, his guard is still high up against me. I need him to trust me even more.)

(Damn. This will be not only more time consuming than I thought, but also more annoying.)

And so, we straight up divided our task.

The dwarf and the necromancer are focused on the blue print right now as well as some experiment while I'm the errand boy to collect the necessary materials.

However, the annoying part is that my level is too low and since I cannot use the plague not the chimeras right now, since if I would I may end up exposing myself.

So, that only leaves the cyborg.

I can hide existence of my cyborg body by having it look like an armor and weapon, but the form changing ability is out of question unless I'm alone.

So, with that in mind, I need to improve those claws of mine.

The necromancer has gave me a lot of money, but I said to him that it's better for me to buy the materials bit by bit and not everything from get go.

If I buy too much stuff at once, it would straight up look suspicious.

Not only that, we don't know what yet we need to make the heart. We may need some more special materials.

Anyway, besides helping these guys out, I also need to improve myself in both terms of levels and equipment.

There are 2 main reasons to get stronger.

First, I need to make sure I'm strong enough if by any chance it comes down to me having to fight the necromancer.

The second reason is for the material gathering. There maybe a chance they would want some higher quality materials that more dangerous monsters have.

So, yea…. I mean leveling up won't bother me, since I mean…. Levels and everything.

But the problem did popped up in between all of that leveling up and getting materials.

They discovered the sewers passage that the necromancer made.

And now they fuking know the dwarf is outside the city. Nice.

The only positive thing about the situation is that the necromancer base is located quiet far away from the passage, so they won't find it anywhere near the passage.

However, for safer side I told the necromancer to hide his undead inside the base.

If people spot his undeads who are guarding the entrance of the base would straight up look suspicious.

There are some undead monsters in the mountains, but common. An armored skeletons defending a random abandoned mine? Who the fuck wouldn't that this thing is suspicious like hell?

So yea…. The city will definitely will make announcement soon or maybe post a quest…. Well, they did posted the quest when I checked the adventure guild, but this time they may give information where possible the dwarf is.

But they definitely cannot use the entire city to check the mountains.

Reason?

I mean, first reason is quite obvious: Is the dwarf even near the city any longer? What if the culprit just used the mountains as his/her cover so they can leave unnoticed?

They don't know if the dwarf is even still here.

The second reason is danger.

The mountains are full of vicious monsters. If they did that kind of big search on them, then there will be a lot casualties.

Unless they hire players, who can die and then resurrect. But again, there is not a lot of players here yet.

But I cannot let my guard down.

If the city has a smart person, they may launch an investigation on the possible hiding spots where the necromancer is hiding and one of the most suspicious location is: Abandoned mine that the necromancer is using as his base.

So, there is a pretty decent chance of the necromancer getting busted.

So, yea…. We are kind of safe right now…. But there is also a chance that we may all get fucked big time at any moment.

Wow. We really need to hurry or we will be fucked for real.
