Warlord of Chaos

Chapter 281: Attack

Chapter 281: Attack

“What’s wrong?” Han Jin asked gently while stroking Sunier’s hair.

“Why does it have to be... you?” Sunier looked at Han Jin. Her eyes started watering, and she had to force herself to hold it in.

“It’s not that they’re making me do it, I volunteered.” Han Jin gently hugged Sunier and leaned back against a tree. “Didn’t you hear what they were saying? Zaganide is more powerful than we thought, so we have to disrupt his plan one step ahead. It will be too late once Zaganide manages to completely settle his problems in the Underground City.”

“But... they can do it too. Why must it be you?!”

“That’s because I’m the most powerful...” Han Jin said while smiling. Upon seeing Sunier’s frown, he quickly explained himself, “Guevara is already getting old. Can you bear to let him take this risk? Jeddes may be younger than him and much stronger, but we aren’t there to preach. We’re sneakily going in to cause chaos. Do you think that Jeddes will be able to do it? As for Majordomo Gail... you already know why he has been following us all this while. You want him to go? Haha... that’s impossible. He will never leave Yalina.”

“What about that Thunder Titan?” Sunier asked.

“That silly giant?” Han Jin’s tone became a little weird upon mentioning the Thunder Titan, because she had caused a certain impact on him. When the silver-haired girl was still tied onto the bed, they could already see that she had a tall stature, but they still hadn’t been shocked. However, once she stood up in front of him, Han Jin realized that his height was only up to her belly-button. If the Thunder Titan looked like an abyssal demon, it would be easier for them to accept it, but the Thunder Titan looked like a pitiful, pretty girl, and it was too big of a visual impact.

“How could you say that!” Sunier paused. “I think she’s just fine.”

“If I bring her along, I’ll easily be exposed.” Han Jiun laughed. “Plus... most of the tunnels in the Underground City are very short to the point that even I have to bend down and walk. If I bring her along, what should she do? Crawl around like a dog?”

“But you should at least bring along a few people?”

“It’s better if I go alone. The others...” Han Jin shook his head. Han Jin’s Daoism was an individual art. He could fight if he wanted to, and even escape if he felt like it; it was free and easy. However, if he brought along others, it may even be a burden to him, even if it were someone as powerful as Guevara.

Sunier felt pain as if something had stung her chest. Although she couldn’t completely understand what Han Jin was saying, she could see the disapproval on his face. It was true that Han Jin’s progress was shocking. In just two years, he had transformed from a useless noble into a top grade superior – a powerful lord. The rest of them like Sunier, Moxinke, and Cessacioun who used to be close partners that fought side by side with him were now gradually considered as burdens. Han Jin had brought them onto the ship, not only because they played an important role in the upcoming battles but because he wanted to protect them.

Sunier fell into Han Jin’s arms and blankly looked at the grass under her feet.

“Maybe... I’ll have to leave for a period of time as well,” Sunier suddenly said.

“Why? Where are you going?” Han Jin froze.

“Lydia has come to me several times saying that the elders want to meet me. It’s been about two years... it’s time I pay them a visit.”

“Lydia?”

“Yeah. I even asked her for help last time because of Manteco. Sylner and Majordomo Gail have met her before”

“Oh... her.” Han Jin finally remembered.

“I may have to take part in the temple’s trial while I’m there, but it shouldn’t be too long. Probably about two months, and I’ll be back.” Sunier’s smile was reluctant, but as he was lying on Han Jin’s chest, he couldn’t clearly see what her expression was.

“Will it be dangerous?” Han Jin asked.

“What danger could there be? Don’t forget that I’m a Descendant of God.”

“Haha... so what you’re saying is that the elders of the temple will take care of you? Then there’s nothing for me to worry about.” Han Jin laughed.

Sunier was a little sad upon hearing Han Jin’s misinterpretation, but she quickly calmed down and looked up at Han Jin. “When will you be back?”

“I’m not sure. Probably about two months. I should be back when you are.”

“It’ll be for such a long time... I’ll miss you.” Sunier’s eyes were filled with sorrow.

Han Jin was still trying to explain himself, but Sunier’s lips suddenly leaned toward him little by little. He then held Sunier’s face and kissed her.

This wasn’t the first time that the both of them kissed, but this time, Sunier was being very enthusiastic, even a little close to being crazy. Both of her arms were tightly wrapped around Han Jin’s back as if she were trying to crush Han Jin’s body and fuse her own body into his. The fragrance from the tip of her tongue was also entangled with Han Jin’s.

Han Jin was very surprised. The elf race, no matter male or female, were mostly very shy in expressing themselves. Perhaps it was because their hearts are too fragile and they were using this as a method to protect themselves. There were very few examples of love at first sight among the elf race as most of them were people who slowly acquainted themselves with things. For instance, Julia and Gibran, and Sunier and him were the same. If any of them were to become slightly impulsive, they would have scared the other one away.

But Sunier’s actions today were very open. She even moaned a few times and acted as if she wasn’t afraid of being heard by others.

After the make out session, Sunier was already exhausted and panting. She then returned to lying on Han Jin’s chest.

“Don’t worry about me.” Han Jin was still stroking Sunier’s hair to comfort her. “Relax, no one can hurt me.” If he were to say that he was undefeatable in this world, that would be bullshit, but when it comes to the ability to escape, he was an expert. He had expertise in using Earthmeld, Earth Shrinking Spell, and Faked Earth Corpse. As long as he was careful enough, escaping wasn’t a problem, and no one would be able to harm him, even if it was an extremely powerful abyssal demon.

“I know,” Sunier replied with a sigh.

The both of them stopped talking as their shadows intertwined with each other as if they were only one person. However, their thoughts were very different. One was filled with enthusiasm and excitement as he was looking forward to all of his upcoming challenges, while the other was filled with sorrow and sentimentality.

This was probably the biggest difference between men and women. Men would always have their eyes fixed on the outside world and all the different challenges that they may face. Even if this meant that all they had left for their woman was just a supportive figure – regardless of whether this was sufficient or not – at least there was something left for the woman. Therefore, Han Jin was completely focused on his mission later tonight instead of Sunier. No one should be blamed for this. If a man were to put all of his attention only on his wife and children, he could only be considered as a good person, but not a man.

“They’re just... Why didn’t anyone stand up against it?!” Sunier tried to change the subject.

“It’s not their fault. Everyone knows that I’m the most suitable candidate.” Han Jin softly replied, “Maybe this seems like an insurmountable obstacle, but for me, it is a shelter.”

Sunier bit her lips but did not say a word.

“Plus... I’m the lord. I can’t just sit back and relax while ordering the rest of them to take the risks.” Han Jin laughed while he held on to Sunier’s waist. “Let’s go back, it’s time for the farewell. I still have things that I have to tell them.”

“Sure.” Sunier nodded, but she was still in Han Jin’s arms. She was reluctant to let go because the temple’s trial that she was about to face was not as simple as she had said. This may even be the last time that they meet each other.

Han Jin raised his sword light and went back on to the ship with Sunier. Everyone on the ship was celebrating, but there were still some slaves who were still guarding the side of the ship and carefully watching the surroundings.

Upon seeing Han Jin, most of the soldiers straightened their bodies and didn’t dare move. If it were in the past, whether or not there were others around, Sunier would have pushed him away, but as for now, Sunier remained in Han Jin’s arms. She only returned to normal and followed behind Han Jin when they reached the hall.

The rest of them like Jeddes and Guevara were all in the hall. Guevara, with his sharp eyesight, noticed Sunier’s condition and said, “Raphael, why don’t... you just stay for another day.”

“It’s fine. This one day may make all the difference. Zaganide may even be on his way with the abyssal demons at this instance.” Han Jin paused for a while and then took out the Soul Devouring Bead. It wasn’t long before Harley’s figure appeared in front of them. The dark mist enchantments that the abyssal magicians had released were a great supplement for Harley. At this point, Harley’s figure was becoming subtle.

“Harley, I will be going to the Underground City for a period of time, so for the time being, you will be in charge of the ship,” Han Jin casually said. Among all of them on the ship, Harley was the only one who knew a little about Daoism. Although Harley wouldn’t be able to release magical arrays, it was still possible for him to maneuver the ship.

Harley was stunned, but after a while, he started screaming and talking incoherently out of excitement. “Oh dear god... Merciful master! My incredible master... don’t worry...”

“What’s with the nonsense?” Han Jin frowned. “You’re just a temporary captain. You still have to follow other people’s others, do you understand?”

“I...” A part of Harley’s enthusiasm died away. He thought that taking over Han Jin’s task would also mean that he was taking over Han Jin’s status as well, which meant that he would be able to command the others. He then started staring at the crowd around him. “Master, whose orders... should I obey?”

This question gave Han Jin a headache. To be honest, he hadn’t bothered about his status. He had only become a lord in order to get as many magic crystals as possible. Therefore, the people that he had gathered did not have strict status boundaries despite their identities. That was why even Moxinke, who was far less powerful than Jeddes, was given the same importance as Jeddes. Well, at least to Han Jin, they were both the same. Rather, Moxinke may be slightly more important to him. Therefore, after a while, Han Jin replied to Harley in an annoyed tone, “Just obey everyone’s orders.”

Harley was stunned again. What was the point of being the captain if he had to follow everyone’s orders?!
