Lu Zhaoyang hissed, her body stiffened; her eyes were large, almost popping out.

Huo Yunting yawned, rubbing his face upon hearing her, with a slightly annoyed expression.

What the hell is... go...going... on... on...

Ti...tired...

Zzzz....

He closed his eyes again! Lu, panicked, gave a fierce bite at his cuddling arm – by hook or by crook, this man had to wake up!

Yeouch!

Huo was wakened up immediately as he bolted up from his bed while Lu swiftly lifted the entire blanket away from bed.

“Huo Yunting! You got to leave! T-t-t-through the window!” A nervous glance around and she got a quick idea. She pushed him off the bed, “Fast!” Her husband almost-caught-red-handed sluggishly dragged a few steps and turned to her, he smiled, laying a kiss on her cheek. Made a brief stretch, as he waltzed to the window, not anxious in any way despite having only a piece of tight boxer on his body.

Lu checked out the floor near her bed – Huo’s clothing was still there.

VERY helpful again! Huo Yunting!

She picked them up and wrapped them in her blanket before she sank herself into bed again, acting sleep deprived.

“Yang Yang, dear, are you still sleeping? Why are you staying in bed so long today?” Madam Xue’s voice rang in urging confusion while Huo Yunting stood by the window, enjoying the sunshine of late morning.

CMON!!!!

Lu could nearly feel her heart exploding.

“Oh! Good morning, mommy! I have gotten up. No worries!” She promptly replied, with brutal glare at the nonchalant man by the window.

“Alright, I’m coming in...” The doorknob was turned. Lu was shifting her sight between the door and the window at light speed, the door was pushed!

Huo?

He had vanished from the open window.

“Phew...” Lu was relieved, though there were still an oversized shirt and pants under her blanket to cover. She tumbled instantly and slept over the clothing, with her back facing the door, as she heard the sound of slippers rubbing the carpet approaching.

“Aw, sweetie, you’re a working adult now and still couldn’t get off your bed promptly,” said Madam Xue with a sincere smile as she saw her daughter still being that little girl she raised for years.

“This is called a Beauty Sleep and mom, you should do it too. Did you sleep well last night? Please don’t get that to you.” Lu was advising her mother yet she dared not even to lift her body up one inch from the bed.

Huo’s clothing was like a fire, burning down her security bit by bit. It was also sticking to her as if on a glue trap.

“It’s alright, sweetie. I know Yunting well. I had gotten used to his words.”

Though mommy still feels sad sometimes. Mommy tried so hard to fit in yet Yunting never cared.

Granny Huo had returned, she’s neutral, not hating me as much, nevertheless, it doesn’t mean she likes me.

“Don’t worry, mommy. It’s just because of what happened to his mother. I believe things will get better in future.”

“Mhm, well, sweetie you got to get up from the bed as soon as possible. His granny is downstairs and she’s having tea already.”

That was why she came to wake her girl up. Or else, she would be fine with her daughter having more beauty sleep.

“Alright, mom. You talk to her, I’ll be there in a minute.”

“Make sure that minute counts~” Her mother nodded and exited her room.

Lu woke up and washed herself quickly. She tiptoed out of her room with Huo’s clothing in her embrace. She got to his room and launched the clothing to the ground before strolling downstairs, feeling relieved.

She arrived by the living room downstairs, only to find out Huo Yunting was there, chatting joyfully with his granny. She was not sure what they talked about, but it seemed fun judging from granny’s constant chuckles.

Lu knew, Huo loved his granny after all.

His granny was kind-hearted too. She never forced her grandson to look completely pleasant to Madam Xue. She only requested, in the form of an advice, that he could just be neutral like her and act friendly without hurling painful words at Madam Xue – “It was basic courtesy in society after all,” she said.

That was extremely challenging nonetheless...

The family had their breakfast, five of them, Yunting and Lu, his father and Madam Xue along with his granny. The scent of grilled bacon was wafting through the air as the chimes made by the metal chopsticks echoed on the quiet dining table. There were a few conversations which turned out to be very uncomfortably concise. One by one, the members left the table with greetings and cutlery collected by their maids.

Lu was the last, she finished her last piece of toast and began sauntering in the spacious mansion of Huo family.

She explored the corridor, passing one room to another, naming them according to her memory.

My room... Huo Yunting’s room... and...

Hmm...

She stopped. There was this one room that caught her.

She never remembered anyone from this room before.

Out of idle curiosity, she grabbed the doorknob and opened the door after a deep breath.

It was a bedroom, very clean and tidy. Almost spotless, as if there was never anybody who stayed here.

It looked like a room for occasional visitors.

But I don’t remember having any of these room, at least on this floor.

She entered the room.

A curious room indeed.
