Chapter 40 - ERASE THE TRACES
Lucas seemed to have gulped down a glass of water in one gulp. He then rose from his seat, although there was still some food left on his plate. The portion of food that Ellena gave him this morning really tortured him. He felt that his stomach was not strong enough to hold that much leftover food, so he decided to end the breakfast activity right away.
"Okay, I'll go first," said Lucas, who seemed to have been standing in front of his mother and wife. Meanwhile, his father had already left for the office.
"I'll walk you forward." Ellena immediately ended the breakfast activity, then got up as well as Lucas did. "Let me get your briefcase first, you just wait in front," she added later.
Ellena ran to Lucas' study which was not far from the dining room, after saying goodbye to Veronica.
It didn't last long. She then hurriedly stepped into the yard, where Lucas was waiting for her in the car. Instead of giving the briefcase to her husband, she climbed into the car and sat beside Lucas. She seemed to close the car door so hard, that it made Lucas jump a little.
Lucas managed to be surprised by his wife's behavior this time. He seemed to be digging his brows and throwing a probing glance at Ellena.
"Will you come with me to the office?" Lucas asked dryly.
Instead of answering, Ellena just glared at Lucas face while showing a wry expression, without the slightest smile etched on her face.
"What are you doing, Elle?" Lucas was still acting stupid. In fact, he knew what was happening to Ellena right now. Yes, of course he knew that Ellena was still angry about what had happened in the dining room earlier.
"You don't act stupid, Lucas! You didn't mean to, you wanted to embarrass me in front of your parents, huh? I'll never let you have the guts to kis ..." Ellena paused when doubt suddenly appeared in her mind.
"What?" Lucas quickly responded while widening his eyes. For some reason he was still questioning things he already understood.

Ellena was silent for a few moments to compose a more appropriate sentence for her to say. "Anyway I don't like you treating me like that! You're the same as harassing me, Lucas!" she growled then. Her face was already confused as if she was about to cry.
Yes, of course. Lucas' attitude this time had gone too far. Obviously Ellena wouldn't be able to keep up with such a charade. It was too much for her who obviously already had a boyfriend. This time Lucas dared to kiss her on the cheek, then what would he do with her later?
Maybe, for Lucas a kiss is a natural thing, but not for Ellena who is struggling to maintain her honor as a woman. She had committed that only her husband deserved to enjoy every inch of her body.
Yes, Lucas is her husband. However, to her the man was only a play husband, not a real husband. Let alone a kiss, even touching her hand Lucas has no right. Because, all of that was clearly written in the agreement, although that wasn't what Lucas meant.
Lucas chuckled with a slightly condescending look. "Then what should I do, if I could turn back time?" he asked deliberately trying to fool Ellena.
"Don't ever treat me like that!" Ellena quickly answered.
Lucas chuckled even more, causing Ellena to widen her eyes perfectly. 'Lucas really sucks,' he thought.
"Unfortunately, I can't turn back time. So what can I do?" Lucas shrugged nonchalantly.
Instantly Ellena stared at him in shock. She just realized that Lucas had just fooled him.
"Lucaaas... you're really annoying!" Ellena clenched her fists in front of Lucas' face. "Are you human or not, huh?" she added, licking his lips.
'That casually he faced my anger? Couldn't he have done something to make amends? You really have no heart, Lucas!' Ellena thought starting to curse.
"Are there any handsome creatures besides humans?" Lucas asked unimportantly.
"There is!" said Elena.
"What is it, Elle?"
"You!" shrieked Ellena in a loud voice. The door of the car opened and she immediately got out of there. There's no point in asking Lucas to argue for too long. That would make her even angrier. Ending the debate was the best decision, according to her.
"What?" Lucas rolled his eyes even more when he heard Ellena's clear answer.
"How dare you, Elle!" Lucas was successfully angered by Ellena's words this time.
Ellena didn't want to care about Lucas' screams. Again she closed the car door with such force that it made a sound like the sound of something hitting something. She immediately rushed from the place, although her anger had not been managed.
"Hey! You want to destroy my car on purpose, huh?" Lucas' scream didn't make Ellena turn her head in the slightest.
Ellena continued to walk past Lucas' car. In fact, Lucas noticed the movement of her body that continued to walk into the house very hastily.
"That woman is so annoying! How dare she call me that!" Lucas sighed in frustration, before he finally drove the car.

Ellena immediately ran into the bathroom in Lucas' room. She tried to erase the traces of Lucas's lips on her cheeks, by washing them with soap and rubbing them vigorously. She hoped that Lucas' tracks would disappear soon. However, in reality it is not that easy. She could still feel the soft touch of Lucas' lips and it almost drove her crazy.
How come? The image of Lucas kissing her cheek is still etched in her memory. It was as if a tingle ran through her body when she remembered the image, the same as when Lucas kissed her a few minutes ago.
"Oh my God, why is it so hard to get rid of the traces of that man's lips. How come I can still feel the touch of his lips, after repeatedly washing these cheeks?"
Ellena kept rubbing those cheeks and rinsing them over and over again, leaving a red mark on her white and smooth cheek skin without the slightest blemish.
Without her realizing it, tears of disappointment rolled down her cheeks. She was starting to regret having accepted Lucas' offer of the deal. If she had known it would turn out like this, she probably wouldn't have accepted the offer to marry him.
Before Ellena finished her activities, her cell phone suddenly rang. She immediately ran and grabbed her cell phone on the nightstand and as fast as lightning she put the phone to her ear.
"Hello, ma'am!" said Ellena to her mother on the other side.
"What? Really, ma'am?" Ellena looked stunned to hear her mother speak who knows what.
It didn't last long.. Their conversation soon ended, after Ellena's mother conveyed important information that made Ellena pensive in the room for a few minutes later.
