Chapter 895 Monster Girl Battle
He explained more about the challenge after that and it was as I expected.
Basically we would send one Monster Girl out to fight and apparently there's some kind of special enchantment where we are able to give power ups to our Monster Girl in the arena by giving them orders.
The winner would be declared when one side has run out of Monster Girls on their team.
He definitely designed this with a specific type of gameplay in mind… And I have to admit I'm starting to get a little into it after hearing his explanation.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Hey, I also played those games too so being able to do it in real life as well does have its appeal!
I looked at my own team.
I had an Ifrit, an Arachnid, a Gnome and a Lamia… That makes it a team of four--
My thoughts were interrupted by a tug on my arm and I turned to see Mother smiling at me while pointing a finger at herself.
I was wondering what she was trying to say when I realised she wanted me to count her as part of the Monster Girl team as well.
Err… Is that even allowed?
I looked at Verdam who was waiting at the side patiently for me to get ready.
"Err… Just checking… How many Monster Girls will be in the fight?"
He tilted his head slightly, his expression hidden by his mask, "Hmm… Since you have five of them, I guess I'll send the same number as well."
Five?
Wait… He thinks Mother is a Monster Girl too?
He should have [Screened] right? Shouldn't he be able to tell that Mother wasn't a Monster Girl?
When I turned to try and use [Screened] on her again, the exact same screen where a hole bunch of question marks showed up so I don't know if he saw the same thing and simply thought this was just an ability of hers as a Monster Girl or he saw something completely different.

I decided to just roll with it anyway but heck… Isn't this a little unfair?
Oh what am I talking about, I never cared about this being fair or not in the first place.
"Are you girls ok with this?" I asked the other Monster Girls.
All of them nodded immediately.
"Yes! Master said that all the winners get a prize so we will get a prize too!"
"Kuku… And if there's a prize… That means what we want isn't off the table."
"That's why we will help you to win, Mistress!"
"Mmm~ I want to wrap Mistress up in my tail again~"
Ok… I regret asking that question now… Maybe it's a good thing that Mother wanted to be a part of the team too…
I nodded a t the Off-Worlder, "I am ready then."
He clapped his hands together, "Oh perfect! The first Monster Girl battle of this world! Let's get right to it! Oh, umm… Could I trouble you to stand on top of the tower? It kind of adds to the effect."
I looked behind me at the tower on my side of the arena and decided to humour him.
I leapt on top of it and Verdam also went up on top of his.
He then cleared his throat, "Ahem… I now announce the start of the first Monster Girl battle arena! Since I am the host, I shall start! I summon… Macy, my Hellhound!!"
A circle of light appeared on his side of the arena and a wolf girl with jet black skin and reddish fur on her arms and legs appeared. Fire seemed to be burning from her eyes and her large, fluffy black tail swished behind her, which only served to make me wonder when Katsuki would join us because I wanna fluff her tail now…
She let out a howl before adopting a battle stance, her sharp canines exposed in a feral grin.
"Let's go!! Who is my challenger?!!" She howled.
All the Monster girls were looking at me in anticipation.
Err… Since it's a Hellhound… I guess fire wouldn't be a good choice since she would most likely be resistant or immune to it… That leaves the Ifrit out.
And being a Hellhound would also give her fire abilities and also strength and speed so the Gnome and Lamia might not be good choices either…
And I don't want to send Mother out from the very start so I guess that leaves with the Arachnid.
I pointed at her and her lips curled up into a sinister grin as she leapt in front of my tower to face off against the Hellhound.
My idea was to try and trap the Hellhound before it could make any moves with the Arachnid's webs and then subdue her that way.
Sure, I was expecting the Hellhound to be able to burn through the webs but if there was more webs than she could burn through, I think the Arachnid would be able to knock her out or outright kill her before she could retaliate.
The masked Verdam raised his hand into the air, "May the battle begin!"
The Hellhound was the first to move as it tried to close in the distance between them.
"Web her! Do not let her move around freely!" I commanded.
The moment I said those words, the Arachnid's body seemed to glow which I guessed must be related to the enchantment Verdam had mentioned.
The Trapping Arachnid shot her hands forward quickly and stands of sticky webs spat out from her hands to fly towards the Hellhound.
The Hellhound did not expect such an attack and had to skid to a stop to try and leap out of the way, dodging to the left and right to avoid the web that was being flung at her.
Unfortunately for her, she had only been paying attention to the webs that were being shot at her but ignored the webs that had landed on the ground, causing her to step onto one such web that ended up getting her stuck for a second.
She got distracted by her foot getting stuck for only a second before she managed to rip herself free but that one second was enough for a barrage of webs to come flying towards her.
The web balls exploded outwards as they hit her, completely engulfing her body in a cocoon of webs.
"Burn them and set yourself free!" Verdam ordered.
The fire in the Hellhound's eyes flared and dark coloured flames surrounded her body that seemed to eat away at the webs that were restraining her.
"Strike at her now!" I shouted.
The Arachnid responded to my command immediately and rushed forward to swing one of her legs at the Hellhound.
The Hellhound just managed to get one of her arms free from her web cocoon to grab the Arachnid's spider leg before it could skewer her.
The Hellhound's lips curled up into a smirk, right before another of the Arachnid's leg lifted up to smack the Hellhound across the face.
She ended up getting sent flying back, losing her grip on the Arachnid's leg and crashing onto the floor a few feet away.
"Get up and use flamethrower!!" Verdam cried out, sounding more excited than before.
"Web her up before she can recover!" I ordered, feeling my own tension rising up as well.
The Hellhound tried to get back on her feet but was hindered by the fact that a part of her body was still encased in web.
That gave the Trapping Arachnid enough time to shoot even more webs at her, encasing the Hellhound in a web cocoon once more.
"Free yourself with fire again!"
"Finish her, quickly!"
The Arachnid skittered forward while the Hellhound struggled to burn the webs, only for even more webs to take their place as the Arachnid never stopped shooting her sticky webs at her.
When the Trapping Arachnid reached the Hellhound, she lifted up two of her spider legs and dropped it down on her, piercing through the cocoon and impaling the Hellhound.
Unfortunately, the fire also ended up burning her legs and she had to retract them quickly.
Sadly, the damage had already been done and I could see that the bottom part of her spider legs had been burned off.
Thankfully, it did not seem to hurt her and the Arachnid was only hissing at her injured legs in annoyance rather than in pain.
Still, the battle had been settled as the blow had been fatal for the Hellhound as the fire died down around her.
No wait, she seemed like she was still alive but she was completely paralysed.
That was when I realised that a greenish looking liquid was dripping from the wounded legs of the Arachnid.
Damn… She must have injected the Hellhound with some kind of poison through her legs when she stabbed her.
Verdam chuckled, "I admit defeat for the first match! That was a good fight!"
The Hellhound was once again engulfed in light before she disappeared, leaving the Arachnid alone in the arena.
Well… First round goes to me I guess?
