Chapter 255: Who Are You Trying to Dazzle with Such Beauty?
TL: Etude
On a bright Saturday morning, the much-anticipated class outing finally arrived. Early in the morning, the boys of Room 302 started to get ready before heading out separately.
Zhou Chao and Ren Ziqiang were responsible for cleaning and locking the dorm, while Cao Guangyu went ahead to the Medical Department’s girls’ dorm to pick up Ding Xue. Jiang Qin left shortly after to fetch the little rich lady from the Finance Department.
Feng Nanshu was genuinely excited about the outing with Jiang Qin. She woke up in a flurry at six in the morning, quickly changed out of her pajamas into a lace-sleeved chiffon blouse, paired with a Chanel-inspired skirt and black stockings. Her outfit, complete with lace-up leather shoes, exuded an exquisite and icy aura of a rich heiress.
However, waking up too early left her with nothing to do after getting dressed, so she sat on her bed, daydreaming about Jiang Qin acting foolishly.
Her eyes lit up when she received a text from Jiang Qin. Grabbing her bag, she hurried downstairs.
“Dressed so beautifully, who are you trying to dazzle to death?”
“Jiang Qin, you’re making me blush,” Feng Nanshu responded, her face feigning shyness, but her eyes clearly delighted.
Jiang Qin grinned, then suddenly put on a serious face, “Little rich lady, there are many people joining us today. You need to act a bit aloof and not just ask for hugs randomly.”
The little rich lady glanced around expressionlessly and replied, “Jiang Qin, there seems to be no one around right now. Hug.”“Not now either. Guys tend to get easily agitated in the morning. Damn, I’m already feeling a bit heated. Let’s hurry.”
Feng Nanshu pursed her rosy lips, “But I didn’t make you angry…”
Jiang Qin smacked his lips, “I’m not angry, but your goddess-like get-up, your cute way of speaking, and those black stockings are a bit too much for me to handle.”
“Jiang Qin, keep talking. I want to hear more.”
“…”
At nine o’clock, Class 3 gathered at the front plaza, waiting for the pre-booked bus.
Jiang Qin arrived leisurely at the walkway, followed by a cold and elegant Feng Nanshu. Her little leather shoes made a ‘tap-tap-tap’ sound on the concrete. Seeing this, the waiting boys felt as sour as if they had eaten lemons.
Honestly, on a group outing like this, having a girlfriend by your side is quite a prideful thing. Jiang Qin bringing Feng Nanshu made him seem even more superior.
Not just Class 3, but others’ boyfriends and girlfriends were also there. The boyfriends, filled with blatant jealousy, dared not show it in front of their girlfriends, while the girlfriends were even more conflicted.

They had dressed up to impress those who hadn’t seen them before, hoping to garner unfamiliar admiration. But at this moment, they realized they couldn’t win at all.
Once everyone arrived, Jiang Tian, the class president, opened her handbag to take out the roll call list and coughed twice for silence.
“Everyone’s here, right? Let me check the attendance.”
“Jiang Qin.”
“Here.”
“Jiang Qin’s… family member, Feng Nanshu.”
The little rich lady, standing idly, immediately raised her hand happily in response.
Jiang Tian’s eyes showed a hint of envy, as if she was smiling while watching her crush with his girlfriend. She then calmly moved on to the next name.
“Jiang Tian is a good person,” Feng Nanshu thought to herself.
After the roll call, the bus, booked for pickup, arrived at the plaza.
Linchuan University had a travel agency specializing in local tours, offering cheap group travel deals. Today, however, the southwestern sky looked ominously overcast, causing some worry.
“Is it going to rain?”
“Rainy days and the green mountains and rivers of the western suburbs are a perfect match.”
“I think a little rain is nice, as long as it’s not too heavy.”
“Even if it pours, it’s fine. We can play cards inside. It’s better than being cooped up in the dorm.”
Soon, the bus set off, carrying a group of excited college students towards the western suburbs.
Halfway through the journey, it started raining, with droplets streaking down the windows, but their excitement for the group outing remained undiminished.
Jiang Qin was the most composed of them all. Having been to the western suburbs before, he found nothing new or exciting, so he spent the journey peeling pistachios, leaving Feng Nanshu a bit thirsty.
But even thirsty, she kept eating, as they were delicious.
An hour later, the bus arrived. Everyone hurried off in the light rain, running along the stone path, crossing bridges and archways, until they finally reached their reserved courtyard.
After setting down their things in the main hall, they stood under the eaves, looking out at the misty mountains. The entire setting seemed serene and elegant, as if the village was intoxicated in the gentle rain, reminiscent of a picturesque scene of mountains enveloped in misty rain.
“It’s raining, but the weather forecast said it wouldn’t…”
“Let’s do this: everyone go back to your rooms and rest for a while. We’ll start the activities once the rain stops.”
Jiang Tian collected everyone’s ID cards and, together with Jian Chun, completed the check-in procedures. After a short while, she returned to distribute room keys to everyone. However, Cao Guangyu felt uneasy about each person being assigned a separate room.
“This… isn’t this just clueless? We are all adults here. Don’t pretend to be ignorant!”
But Jiang Tian had her reasons. The charges were collected per head; it wouldn’t be fair to charge for two but provide only one room, in case anyone objected. Besides, assigning a single room to those with partners might lead to unexpected issues. As the class leader and the person responsible for the event, Jiang Tian didn’t want to take any risks.
“Class leader, can’t you be a little corrupt for once?”
“Cao Guangyu, I advise you not to make unreasonable demands.”
Ren Ziqiang and Zhou Chao chuckled, and even Jiang Qin couldn’t help but laugh.
He had spent the previous night restless, with thoughts of Feng Nanshu’s pert backside, tossing and turning in bed. Cao Guangyu seemed equally restless, constantly shifting his position.
Without a doubt, Cao Guangyu had spent the night dreaming of sweet nothings, only to be doused with cold water by the current arrangement.
“Old Jiang, what if I just directly ask Ding Xue if I can stay with her? What if she refuses?”
Jiang Qin entered his room, saying, “What else can you do? Just handle it gracefully.”
Cao Guangyu’s face stiffened, thinking of Ding Xue’s temperament; she might really make a scene: “Damn, my road to love is so bumpy.”
“Forget it, get out. I want to sleep.”
“Don’t be so heartless. You’re always so slick; you must have some trick up your sleeve.”
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Jiang Qin opened it to find Feng Nanshu wanting to come in to watch TV.
Cao Guangyu nearly ground his molars in envy but still managed to leave Jiang Qin’s room with a nonchalant air. After all, losing gracefully was important.
“Jiang Qin, it’s raining outside and we can’t go out. I want to watch TV here.”
“Don’t tell me your TV just happens to be broken?” Jiang Qin looked at her skeptically.
Feng Nanshu nodded straightforwardly, “Yes, it’s broken.”
“You can come here to play, but don’t deliberately break things. If you do, you’ll have to pay for it.”
“It’s fine, I might be silly, but I’m rich,” Feng Nanshu declared boldly.
Jiang Qin held his breath, “You didn’t really break the TV, did you?”
“No, I didn’t even turn it on. I came straight here.”
Jiang Qin felt a tingling sensation in his heart and glanced out the window, “This rain doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon. We’ll probably have to wait until lunchtime to go out. Let’s change into slippers.”
Feng Nanshu kicked her feet, “Jiang Qin, please help me with my shoes.”
“Hold on, let me see if they provide disposable slippers here. If not, forget it. Shared ones aren’t clean.”
Jiang Qin stood up and found two pairs of disposable slippers in the cabinet. He squatted down to help the little rich lady untie her laces, remove her leather shoes, and slip her feet, clad in black stockings, into the slippers.
But soon, he changed his mind and tossed the slippers aside. What’s the use of wearing slippers? It’d be a waste.
He held her delicate feet in his hands and continued to watch TV with Feng Nanshu for the rest of the morning. The noise of other students occasionally echoed down the hallway, some calling others to play cards, some planning to take a walk outside with umbrellas.
He thought he heard Ding Xue’s voice, seemingly telling someone off twice.
Jiang Qin was perfectly content, leaning against the bedhead, not wanting to go anywhere.
He loved sleeping on rainy days, finding it hard to resist the urge to laze around in bed.
Feng Nanshu was even more well-behaved, resting her feet in Jiang Qin’s arms, munching on a bag of chips, and watching “Spirits of the Past” on the public channel, completely engrossed in the film.
For most people, the meaning of a trip varies.
Some feel that a trip is wasted if they didn’t exhaust themselves by sightseeing, but for others, as long as they’re happy, it doesn’t matter where they are.
Jiang Qin clearly belonged to the latter group, comfortably lying down with an entertaining distraction at hand, not feeling the need to join in the hustle and bustle outside.
