Chapter 162: Soon!
No one understood why Linfel said that. Keep running, and everything will be fine... Why would it be fine? They were getting even further away from the main routes. It will become harder and harder to meet anyone the further they go into these routes. It would instead give their pursuers the perfect chance to attack!
Linfel could tell what they were thinking, but he didn't say anything. His Magic Sense, which was definitely bigger than those coming after his group, kept focused on them. "Okay, increase the speed a little."
Alvin and the others looked at each other and nodded, increasing their speed.
Half a minute later. "Increase again; go ten kilometers faster."
Zandel jumped right and left, narrowing his eyes while he pulled Kefin with him. "This terrain is terrible to move through."
The Crystal Caves weren't smooth. Giant crystals could also be found on the ground everywhere. To make the most of the situation, Zandin and the others were forced to keep jumping everywhere to keep the increase of speed requested by Linfel.
That was the same for everyone. Just like the city, it was also impossible to fly inside a Dungeon due to the Magical Arrays controlling it. The Ventis Sect never made life easy for anyone. Well, that was good for Linfel's group since not even the Level Five Magus behind could fly, either.
Linfel kept checking his group's distance from the Level Five Magus and the trio of Level Four ones. He would tell Alvin and the others to increase their speed now and then; sometimes, he asked them to reduce their speed a little as well. Simply put, Linfel was making sure his pursuers would stay around a hundred meters away.

That situation continued for over an hour, and exactly as Linfel mentioned, they didn't find a single Magic Beast. This place truly looked more like a labyrinth than anything else. Everywhere they looked at seemed the same. If not for the map of the first 50 kilometers Linfel acquired, they wouldn't even be sure if they were lost or not.
"Hehe!" Linfel laughed a little. "Seems like our friends are getting impatient. Everyone, increase your speed by another 30 kilometers. You can use your Magic Energy normally."
Behind, both the Level Five Magus and those at Level Four in the other group were indeed getting angry. They kept trying to catch up to Linfel's group, increasing their speed several times. Yet, Linfel's group seemed to away be a step too far for them to even see their shadows. They were sure they were ahead, but they couldn't catch up.
Little did they know, but Linfel was using his map to go in circles. This dungeon was enormous and with countless different paths. As long as the enemy didn't catch up, Linfel could bait them around forever.
Another two hours went by, and the trio of Level Four Maguses and Their Familiars finally found themselves forced to stop. It wasn't that they didn't want to pursue Linfel's group anymore. Instead, they had been using their magic Energy nonstop to move in this weird terrain of crystals while keeping up with Linfel's group speed. One could just imagine their shock to see that they were running out of steam while Linfel's group continued to run.
*Gasp, gasp...* "How's that possible..."
*Gasp, gasp...* "It makes no sense..."
"Forget it..." *gasp...* "We already knew we probably wouldn't have a chance with that Level Five guy pursuing them anyway. Let's go back and wait at the exit. We can't make a move there, but at least we can report them once they go back to the city."
Just like that, the Magus Group gave up. In their eyes, Linfel's group was actually committing suicide. There was no way they could outrun the Level Five Magus reserves of Magic Energy. Once Linfel and the others ran out of Magic Energy, they would become the stronger guy's prey and would be forced to give away their cards.
Linfel, obviously, noticed when the trio stopped with his Spiritual Sense. "Good news, our first pursues gave up."
"What?!" Milia and the others were taken aback. "Why?!"
Linfel looked at Milia, Alvin, and Zandel. Milia and Zandel's Familiars were just cores, so carrying them wasn't a problem. Still, neither of the three seemed tired yet. "Still can't understand? Did you forget what you looked like when I first started to train your physical bodies without having to rely on Magic Energy? Why do you think I made you all run so much? Tell me, how much Magic Energy have you used until now?" Linfel asked as they continued to run.
The group was surprised to hear that. Alvin, Milia, and Zandel checked their reserves.
"I'm still full..." Alvin was the first to answer. As the one who trained with Linfel the longest, he obviously had the best Magic Energy Control. He was using Magic Energy to move fast through the crystals, but his control was so good that he was able to recover more than he used.
"I'm around 80%," Milia was next. She had been with them for a while longer than Zandel but nowhere near as Alvin.
"What? I'm already at 50% of my reserves!" Zandel exclaimed. He was at Level Four, and yet he used more Magic Energy than Milia and Alvin, who were at Level Three. Well, it had been just two months since he began to receive his tyrannical magic Energy Control and Physical Training from Linfel, so he still had a long way to go.
Linfel shrugged. "That's pretty much it. Magic Energy Control and, in this case, pure body fitness and strength. Those guys behind us are most likely the same as 99%+ of the Maguses of the world. Absolute no physical training, only Magic Leveling and Magic Energy Control. Maguses tend to underestimate the difference of a properly trained body. After all, they can make up for it all by simply adding Magic Energy. Now, you just saw the result of such thinking. We are all still fine to keep runing for many more hours. As for our friends behind..."
Everyone was quite happy to hear that.
"Great!" Alvin cheered. "We can just keep running until the Level Five guy gives up. Hahaha! We are safe!"
"Uh?" Linfel looked at Alvin, confused. "Why would we do such a thing? Be ready. Soon, we will turn around and confront him."
Alvin almost stumbled when he heard that. Sure enough, things were never that simple when Linfel had the reins.
