Chapter 100: Innate Abilities

Standing by Asmir's side, Hiro looked no different from an ant with his current body.

However, it was this ant that drew everyone's attention, and for no other reason than his ability to open up a portal under such circumstances.

"You guys are huge," Hiro murmured, looking around with interest. Then, he sized up Asmir in awe. He hadn't expected her true body to be so massive.

Last time he recorded the coordinates of this pocket dimension, he didn't get the chance to meet her true body.

Of course, he exposed the fact that the Unfathomables can get their hands on any coordinates as long as they visit any space at least once.

If Asmir wanted to guarantee her secrecy in the future, she had to find a new pocket dimension for herself.

The black tiger, the fish, and the whale surrounded Asmir and Hiro, but their eyes were locked on the latter.

"Who are you?" Dawnson asked in a low voice, his tone undoubtedly authoritative, if not threatening.

Hiro followed the voice and when he saw the massive humanoid demon shrouded in darkness, he ignored him.

Hiro looked at Asmir and asked, "Do you need any help? My time is limited."

Asmir's eyes flickered as she asked tentatively, "Can you keep that one under control? This seat can act without worries to finish off these lowly things first."

Hiro raised an eyebrow. "You don't want me to kill him?"

Hiro didn't believe that he could not kill the current Asmir in an isolated environment like this one. Furthermore, if Asmir had the time to chat, it meant that the other party's strength wasn't much stronger than her.

"Killing him isn't worth the consequence," Asmir responded quickly. "Unless you're willing to take responsibility and help this seat again in the future."

Hiro moved his eyes away from Asmir and replied lightly, "It's not up to me. Rules are rules, and I'm following them."

Asmir lowered her head and looked at the young man. She didn't say anything, but she understood that this answer hinted at something.

For example, Hiro's quota had yet to expire.

Of course, there was no such quota to begin with. Hiro only said that to increase his own value, and because he didn't want to be exhausted to death helping Asmir handle these matters.

Dawnson's killing intent flared up again at being ignored, and just as he was about to make a move, Hiro's figure blurred.

He left the encirclement of the three Stronghold Lords easily, appearing in front of Dawnson.

"Little guy…" Dawnson wanted to berate Hiro harshly, but his voice was caught in his throat.

That's because the hellfire around Hiro boiled up uncontrollably, blooming into a sea of black flames behind his back.

The upper body of a humanoid silhouette climbed from the sea of black flames, and other than the obscured face which resembled a slate of emptiness, his body seemed like an enlarged version of Hiro's current body.

As the silhouette stood straight, tongues of black flames danced about, condensing into an alternate form of the Infinite Sword Matrix.

At first, Dawnson was shocked by the display, but he quickly realized that this energy didn't contain a hint of faith energy.

In a sense, this was pure demonic essence, not divine energy.

He frowned, wondering if this stranger was holding back on purpose to play a defensive battle.

As for Hiro, his thoughts were simple.

During his synchronization state, his energy was nigh infinite. Of course, that doesn't include faith energy, as the system couldn't generate faith energy for some reason.

If he used faith energy, he'd have to draw it from the universe hall.

To be blunt about it, Hiro's faith energy was insufficient to contend against these behemoths who had countless demons at their beck and call.

However, as Dawnson had guessed, Hiro was planning to play the defensive game by spamming his ability to condense energy attacks from his limitless pool of energy.

A black sword whizzed over, striking at Dawnson's forehead.

Dawnson grunted coldly and waved his hand forward, projecting a demonic essence claw.

Bang!

The two attacks met in mid-air, canceling out one another as they shattered into motes of demonic essence.

Hiro waved his hand, and a vortex with great suction force formed in his palm. The force acted on the motes of energy, devouring it whole.

Hiro clenched his fists, nodding.

"I almost forgot," Hiro raised his head and looked back, quickly locating the deformed body of the demonic imp, Valdmor.

He waved his hand, and a rain of black swords descended onto the imp's body.

"Impudent!" Dawnson screamed, his voice imbued with great energy. However, the massive silhouette snapped his fingers, causing another shockwave to ripple out.

This one was also infused with a huge amount of demonic essence, easily overpowering Dawnson's attack.

"Are you mad?!" Dawnson's forehead throbbed from anger, feeling exasperated.

This person spent demonic essence like water, and he didn't even bother using demonic energy of lower quality.

Dawnson didn't know how much demonic essence this person had in their body, but recovering demonic essence was very difficult, unlike demonic energy.

In the meantime, the swords descended onto Valdmor's body, tearing him apart.

Boom!

A cloud of demonic energy and demonic essence exploded out, together with a surge of faith energy.

The spectacle was breathtaking as the different energies intertwined, but it was a short-lived phenomenon.

All of that energy was sucked away by Hiro from a distance, taking full advantage of his ability's increased range during the synchronization state.

Curse you! Curse you! Curse you…

As the energy dissipated, everyone heard a shrill scream. Hiro was more than a little surprised, "This guy was alive?"

Thinking about it, this imp mastered the laws of illusions, so it didn't seem too surprising that he could have fooled the perception of everyone else.

Asmir seemed to have arrived at a similar conclusion, but she didn't care. Even if he mounted a sneak attack on her, he wouldn't have been able to harm her.

Noticing that Hiro had been able to block Dawnson from interfering with her battlefield, she no longer held back.

Her low voice echoed out, "I've been using causality laws for so long, it appears as though you little things have forgotten about this seat's true power."

Her white fur glowed with nine shades, the brightest of colors concentrated on her tails as they glowed gray, blue, green, red, gold, transparent, black, white, and purple.

Furthermore, her pupils turned into multicolored vortices that spun rapidly, quickly expanding and occupying her irises, followed by her eyes.

As Asmir's aura spiked up, she disregarded faith energy completely, focusing on the use of her demonic essence and the innate talent of her race.

"What's going on?" Asked the massive fish, feeling frightened.

"Don't act recklessly!" Dawnson shouted from behind, sounding anxious. "That's the innate ability of her race, the Nine Arts, but she can't maintain for long! Stall for time!"

Hiro was curious, so he looked back to check.

An innate ability? Hiro mulled over it, because he remembered how Sitri had his own innate abilities in the game.

Purgatory Domain, Bone Sword, and the Bone Armor. The strength of those abilities was proportional to Sitri's level, but they were ridiculously overpowered within the same power level.

He now understood why the summoning token for pure blood Nine-Tailed Demon Fox from the system was so expensive.

"Can they stall this seat?" Asmir asked with unbridled disdain. Obviously, Dawnson thought too much of his underlinings.

"You spent your time and resources nurturing them and their respective strongholds for this day, thinking that you've provided them with great power," Asmir continued in a harsh tone of ridicule. "Someone on your level ought to know that transparent power is no true power."

Dawnson had nothing to say. He should have expected Asmir to pull such a move after what she did to Giant.

Even now, that fool was crossing the ocean on foot, trying to move his stronghold from the sea to the land.

Dawnson could have helped him, but he was too disappointed and infuriated with that guy.

Even with divine energy, he couldn't handle a projected clone of Asmir's, not to mention losing his stronghold in the aftermath of the battle.

Seeing Hiro getting a little distracted, Dawnson's body blurred as he moved like lightning.

In a moment, he circumvented Hiro and was racing toward Asmir who was preparing to cast a powerful demonic art.

"Die!"

Dawnson stretched his hand and swatted down. From above, the space cracked like glass, a black claw falling from the void.

"How troublesome," Hiro murmured.

Just as the claw was about to smash into Asmir's back, her instincts screamed danger.

She turned back to look, but she saw nothing.

Well, there was something.

An expanse of darkness was this close to engulfing her figure, and this stretch of darkness covered the other half of her pocket dimension.

"Don't worry about this guy," Hiro's voice drifted into her mind. "I can bury him alive with demonic essence if I wanted to."
