Chapter 382: The Princes

Chapter 382: The Princes

Ed panted. He felt like his body was about to give up, his body barely standing while he watched the light from his attack slowly dissipate into nothingness.

After the purple aura had cleared, Sayu's unconscious body laid lifeless on the floor. Lance conjured more chains to tie her up, wrapping the layers of chains around her body.

"Do you think she's finished?" Elliot asked, walking closer to Sayu while pointing his sword at her. They couldn't be too careful since they have seen her get defeated and regenerated the parts of her body before.

"She's done for," Emperor Yamato spoke. He fell to his knees while clutching his chest, his eyes widening in both shock and fear. "S-Sayu was actually defeated."

Lance's sword switched from conjuring the chains and raising against the emperor. "What in the hell is happening here?"

Emperor Yamato was frozen in shock. He kneeled there, staring at the white sword that was being pointed at him. "Please lower your sword, child."

Instead of doing what the old man requested, Lance crossed both his swords and both made them glow with their respective colors, "Speak or forever hold your peace."

"Fine, fine," Emperor Yamato raised his hands in surrender. "Our kingdom no, all the kingdoms in the East has been taken over by the two most powerful rulers, the Diamond Emperor and the Jade Emperor."

"Who are they and why are they doing this?" Lance continued his interrogation.

"Let me start from the beginning then," Emperor Yamato cleared his throat. "It all started when the crown princes of the two most prosperous kingdoms found a black well."

It was the time for the feast of the Twelve Suns. People across the Eastern coast and mountains were preparing everything to worship the Twelve Suns.

The Feast for the Sun was an annual celebration that the Easterners do to honor the Twelve Suns that built their kingdoms. Every year the emperors and the crow princes would gather at the center of the continent and worship the sun.

Several years ago, two princes founs themselves lost in the middle of the forest. It was a tradition for Easterners that the emperors and their sons to be separated in just about anything. Castles, convoys, servants, all these were separated, even for the empress.

Every carriage that had the emeprors and the princes in all of the lands were on their way to the great temple to celebrate when the skies started to darken. The winds blew colder and the light from the sun was gone in an instant.

With a blink of an eye, a storm had landed. Two particular carriages were blown by the strong winds. For miles, the winds took the two carriages closer together, clashing them against each other.

These carriages contained the princes from the Diamond and Jade kingdoms. They convoys were killed by the strong winds, even the horses who took them died by some unknown cause.

After the clash of their carriages, the storm ceased. The sky cleared and the birds chirped again. It was as if nothing had happened at all.

The two young boys walked out of their destroyed carriages and walked towards each other. One had light blue hair and eyes, his skin was pale and his figure was tall and lean. He was the Diamond Prince.

The other boy was short and skinny. He had a matching green hair and eyes and an even paler skin, making him white as a sheet of paper. His body looked frail, bruises immediately appearing all over him after he crashed his carriage.

"What is happening?" The frail Jade Prince cried. "Why are we here?"

"You're from the Jade Kingdom, right? That is very far from where I come from," the Diamond Princd said. "We must've been brought together for a reason."

"And what reason is that?" the Jade Prince continued crying. "I want to see my father again. Where is he?"

"He's probably looking for us," the Diamond Prince said with confidence. "Let us find a path outside of this forest so we can come home. Maybe we can be there in the time."

"So, you're a prince too?" the Jade Prince asked. "I am Lin Du Du, the son of the Jade Emperor and the crown prince of Kingdom of Liliang."

"Call me Licht Fowler," the Diamond Prince introduced. "The crown prince of the Diamond Kingdom, Nieves."

Du Du formed an O with his mouth, covering his mouth and refraining from gasping, "You're from the foreign dominated kingdom."

"I am," Licht said with a smile. "But my name is the only one that is foreign. My features, my blood, and my heart will always belong to the East."

"The West is not too bad though," Du Du said with a grin. "My father took me there last year and the people were all good to me."

The two princes continued talking while walking deeper and deeper into the forest. Unknown to the both of them, the sun was already setting in the horizon.

"It's getting dark," Du Du muttered with a low voice. "I hate the darkness."

"Oh," Licht chuckled. "Are you perhaps afraid of the dark?"

"Of course, not!" Du Du yelled. "I am the crown prince and I am brave. My blood is filled with pride and power running inside me through the power of the Jade Maiden."

"Wow," Licht laughed at the other boy. "You talk a lot but your body says differently."

"Whatever do you mean?" Du Du quirked his brow up. "I am"

"Soiling your pants as we speak," Licht snorted, pointing at the other boy's pants. "You're already fourteen, yet you still pee in your pants."

Du Du's face became red instantly. He scoffed and rolled his eyes, "This is sweat, if you must know. We have been walking for hours and we aren't seem to get nowhere."

"Shh," Licht suddenly said, placing his hand over the others prince's mouth.

Du Du pulled the hands down, "Ohh, you think you're better than me or something? Come on, fight me then."

"Listen," Licht whispered, pulling Du Du down on the ground. "Do you hear that?"

Du Du paused momentarily, trying to feel the air and grasp what the other boy was talking about. He closed his eyes and focused his energy on his hearing, only to find nothing. "Licht, if you're messing with me, you need to stop."

"I am not," Licht whispered and crouched to the direction deeper into the forest. Du Du pulled his arm and tried to make him stop but Licht wad much stronger.

"What are you doing?" Du Du asked with a whisper. "We need to get out of this forest. That's the direction of where we came from."

"I feel something there," Licht said. He looked at Du Du who had fear in his eyes. "Don't be scared. I'm your big brother now. I'll protect you, okay?"

Du Du was hesitant. He tried to keep himself together, but he could barely do it. "Okay, then. I trust you."

"Good," Licht smiled and pulled his new friend to the darkness. They walked for a few minutes until they found themselves in the middle of a clearing.

And in front of them was a black well with a glowing black light inside.
