Chapter 975 The famous Seniors
[Eon's POV: ]
Including uncle El, mom, uncle Theo, Aunt Aug, and Rein's grandpa, there have been many influential people who had been part of the academy at some point.
And, the ones who were invited this time around, were exactly some of those influential people who the headmaster could not only trust with the secret of what was going on the island right now, but also the people who were closely connected to the academy even today.
"Could this be the famous gathering of your batch, children? One where the vice captain of Wisdom phoenix serves the special food that he makes?"
Be it the famous tower masters from the east and west of the empire, or the executives of the adventurers association, be it people who held some impressive positions around the world, or be it the headmasters of other academies that are present around the world…n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
The people who had approached us right now included not just those famous individuals, but also those who weren't particularly famous anymore despite their once great status.
"You seem to be in the right place, senior Victor. It is an honour to make your acquaintance."
There were many genuines who had represented the entire student bodies of their time, serving as even the presidents of the student council.
And, one of those famous names was the (Mage of Green flames) the master of the Red magic tower that stands as the most prominent magic assembly in the northern lands to the empire.
"Oho? You know me already? I see why the old man was talking so highly of you, huh."
He was the second youngest member of the elder council, one of the few (tier-9) mages of this world as well as someone who had achieved that fate at the relatively young age of 57 years.
He looked as young as uncle Theo despite his age, and he was a human that only had affinity for one element, so, he was a rare case among the other members of the elder council.
"It would be surprising not to know about the Rebellious mage Captain of True Dragons."
He was not that old, so he was quite famous even among the students of our batch.
"Is that so?"
He was said to be one of the most popular captains of any of the houses in the past few centuries because of his fiery personality.
And, he wasn't the only one that used to be famous alongside him.
"Oh~. Cute little children~."
He had a partner that became the vice president alongside him, someone who though wasn't among the currently famous figures, was certainly someone who used to be an important figure alongside him.
"Stop teasing them!"
If Sir Victor was fire, Miss Veronica was water, and alongside these two, Sir Gole was the earth, Sir Zar was the Winds, Lady Nix was the Night, and Master Logan, one of the cardinals at the Temple were the light of some of the previous batches.

"Hey! I'm not teasing them. We're here for the special food, right? I'm just trying to reach that conversation, V!"
Lady Veronica was a simple person now, but she used to lead the famous teams representing the entire Great academy in various sports and events.
She was a leader, someone who had a bright future ahead of her… but she didn't continue her career and instead took over the small estate that her family owned.
'She's one of those simple people who chose the life of simplicity, but rumour has it that Sir Victor never liked her decision.'
Though, it didn't seem to be the case from how well they were behaving with one another right now.
"Alright you two. Don't act up before the children. We should at least try to maintain whatever image we have left."
Master Logan was a prominent figure of the Temple, one of the few origin Masters of this world, and also someone who had contracted with an Advanced light spirit.
He was also the eldest among the people who had approached us— an Elf that was actually more than six hundred years old.
"And you… we apologise for their behaviour. We simply came to greet you all."
He was older, and yet he was being polite.
"It is no big deal, Master Logan. Why don't all of you take a seat and taste a few things. See if you like anything?"
We had already made some space for them between us, and there were only fifteen of them this time so, there shouldn't be any problem getting adjusted.
"Oh… seems like you already know what we were after. Though, please know that we didn't have any ill intentions, just curiosity."
"Of course, of course."
It was simple curiosity, as he said, and we understood that as well. There were some people that wanted to talk with all these people as well, so joining us was much better than going to them when they were doing something else.
'This festival wasn't just a celebration for us, even for the people who were coming back to this amazing place after so long, this event was a special moment.'
The students of various batches who knew one another, the presidents of the student council that might have passed down their positions to the next generations, and even the students who might have become a prominent figure at this point were all talking about their own experiences.
And, it would be rude to disturb their nostalgic conversations.
"Please, have a seat."
The group that had approached us this time, had a particular thing common: elemental powers.
All these people only had one elemental affinity and that coincidentally helped all of them achieve great feats in their fields, or find some meaning in their lives.
"Tia, Med, Zoe, please pass on these to them."
"Oh, yes!"
"Yes!"
"Here."
It didn't take them long to settle down, and with the setting of the table and the sitting arrangements we had made, it was easy to pass on things from one corner of the table to the other pretty swiftly.
There was magic involved, obviously, but if possible, we avoided using magic when we were having lunch, or dinner even.
"Won't you introduce your dishes, Vice captain Lucifer? They are presented quite well, and they feel delicious already."
It was a compliment, but at the same time, they were testing me.
Not that I didn't expect this.
"Lady Nix, they are simple things. You'll understand when you experience them yourself."
She was a connoisseur and someone who had experienced a lot of dishes during her world travels.
She knew her food, so she could tell the simple dish of a simple looking 'salad' was not simply an appetiser but something far more than that.
'She wanted to know what she was eating like an assassin usually would, but we weren't feeding her anything dangerous.'
She was eating healthy food, and since it was a pretty simple dish among what we usually eat, there was no need to introduce it to them.
"Hmmm…"
"Oh, wow."
A few of them had already started as soon as they got the dishes before them, and, starting from their first bite, a hint of surprise flashed in their eyes.
"I didn't expect this, I must say."
They were surprised, but not as much as what a normal person tasting these things would be.
"Hmmm. It's not bad."
Unlike many people here who have never experienced special luxury food in their lifetime, the seniors who had joined us right now had set preferences, likings that were quite specific, and since they had already had things far better than My cooking, they weren't that surprised.
Still, they liked these common things.
And they enjoyed the portion that they had initially received, even asking for more later on.
The more they ate, the more their interest in this food grew, and with each new thing they experienced, the thought that all of this was made by the same individual grew more prominent.
"Lucifer, right?"
One of the individuals among them, Lady Ciel, was a chef herself.
"Are you going to continue cooking professionally? You can make a good name for yourself, you know?"
She was a master, and her question of whether I'd continue with cooking professionally or not was certainly something many of my friends also wanted to know.
But, they all knew the answer to that question, so they never asked.
"No, no Lady Ciel. Cooking is just… a hobby of mine. I'm certainly not looking forward to continuing it officially.
I want to become a magic archer. So I'm working towards that."
"Hmm?"
"Hmmm? A magic archer?"
Since many of them only had a single elemental affinity, a quite high affinity at that, they could faintly tell when someone else also had affinity for that element.
And when I said I wanted to become a magic archer, most of them looked at me with a surprised expression first, and later at one another with a greater surprise.
"That's not just a rumour? You're a Hexa element and you still want to do magic?"
Not everything that goes out of the academy is a fact, all of them knew that, so they knew how many of the things that are known could be wrong.
"Yes, I do want to be an archer that can use magic."
While having affinity for only one element was considered to be a blessing, all six elements' affinity was a curse.
It was common knowledge that anyone who has survived long enough to attend the academy with this unique condition would be lucky to live a few more years.
There were special cases like me, and a few other teachers of the academy of course, but even they wouldn't dare to train both their body and magic with this condition.
Being an archer especially required good focus and stamina, so it was not common.
"Oh boy… you're just like Sir Harvey."
"Right? I thought the same."
"That guy was quite something…"
"His classes used to be so fun, haaaa."
"He has retired, hasn't he?"
"Yes, around fifteen years ago. I reckon Empress Madeleine's batch was the last one who attended his classes… he was also a homeroom teacher of Class A at that time, if I'm not wrong."
A unique name popped up out of the blue.
A name that was Actually unfamiliar to many of us present here.
