Chapter 252 There Must Be Thousands
Atlas continued looting the camp while the Ghouls dragged a group of twenty commanders to one side. He approached them with a knowing smile and said, ''Now, who will tell me where the rest of your army is?''
Three of the Achaemendians protested when he finished speaking, but Atlas waved at the Ghouls, who jumped on the men and tore them apart, which scared everyone, but it didn't bother him.
Following that, more of the commanders protested only to be killed until a woman agreed to show him a map of the area. She quickly marked all the areas down before Atlas ordered, ''Now eat her slowly and make sure she feels every bit of pain.''
She screamed, but the Ghouls finished her off with ease before they started eating the corpse. Atlas watched this without mercy as he heard the horror stories the Achaemendians put their conquered people through.
Once that was done, he ordered the Ghouls to drag the rest of the bodies into the Otherworld before returning to the five women who were watching him with wide eyes and hanging jaws.
Grishna shook her head with an excited smile as she questioned, ''Were those horrible creatures from the Void Realm, darling? Their howls sent goosebumps across my body.''
Atlas chuckled when hearing this, but Estelle was the next to speak, ''Those were a different type of Ghouls than the ones that roam the world? They are normally not that strong.''
''They are Void Ghouls; we fought them a couple of times,'' he answered while sitting in front of the fire.
Suddenly, a new wave of howling echoed through the night, sharper and more ominous. Amethyst jolted to her feet, her expression shifting to one of concern as she scanned the darkness.
''The Dark Ones are here,'' she said, her voice tense. ''They've been absent for the last few nights… but now they're back.''
After that, Atlas jumped up and watched as the creepy humanoids appeared in the camp's darkness. He summoned a large group of Ogres that charged into the creatures without waiting.
They hammered the Dark Ones into meat paste while others swarmed over his summoned monsters. The five women watched this battle wide-eyed as the Ogres butchered the creepy creatures.

Atlas chuckled at this scene before pulling out some Horned Rabbit Kebabs and started eating as everyone else had some stew Estelle cooked while he was attacking the Achaemendian camp.
His Ogres shattered the ranks of the Dark Ones, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. The ground trembled as they tore through the enemy, scattering bodies and leaving trails of destruction and pools of blood in their wake.
Roaring defiantly, the Ogres fought with unmatched ferocity, their thick hides shrugging off the claws. But as the battle wore on, the relentless swarm of Dark Ones closed in, overwhelming even their brute strength.
One by one, Atlas watched as his monsters fell, each taking down a final wave of Dark Ones before they were brought to their knees, leaving a battlefield littered with their enemies' broken bodies.
'They are strong, only if I had more mana,'
he pondered while eating the kebab.
Following that, Nulia and Estelle started setting up the tents while everyone else rested in front of the fire. Atlas sat there with a tired smile, and Artemis appeared next to him with a cheeky grin.
The brunette spoke cheerfully, ''Do you want to come scouting with my love?''
He agreed with a nod before standing up and letting out a yawn. The two of them went to walk down the hill, but Amethyst spoke up as she scanned their surroundings, ''I will be flying around. Send a Void Bullet in the air if you need help.''
Atlas smiled when he heard this. He quickly approached the Phoenix girl and gently kissed her as she sunk into his embrace. Afterward, he and Artemis trekked down the hill once the Dark Ones cleared out.
When the two stepped into the forest, the brunette turned on him with a smirk before tiptoeing and kissing him. Atlas grinned before returning the kiss as he held her slender hips, but something caught his attention.
He quickly teleported them to the treehouse in the Otherworld as a monster lunged out of the shadows. The two of them landed on a soft bed with Artemis on top, looking down at him with glowing brown eyes.
''Can we go on a date when we reach a city?'' she sweetly asked.
Atlas nodded in agreement while answering, ''I planned on taking each of you on a date, but I want to heal my scars first.''
When Artemis heard this, she frowned, ''There's nothing wrong with them; they can be fixed in Shadowfang City. I remember Nulia saying the black wolves are skilled spirit mages.''
Following that, the two of them continued kissing while Atlas grabbed her perky behind, which caused her to giggle. They started touching each other, but soon enough, she said in an annoyed voice, ''We better go scout, or they will tear me a new one for taking advantage.''
Atlas chuckled at this before smacking her ass as the two teleported back to the forest where the brunette killed a Night Jackal. Once it was dead, they continued circling the hill while chatting.
As they did that, Grishna appeared from the top of the hill and whistled. He looked at the Orc woman who motioned for them to come. Atlas grabbed Artemis and started using Void Step to climb to the top.
He was met by the four women looking north, causing Atlas to follow their gazes only to see a Monster Wave heading in their direction. The grassland was covered in all sorts of creatures.
''Oh my god, there must be thousands there,'' Amethyst muttered.
Estelle grimaced. ''Tens of thousands at a minimum, Little fish,'' she commented.
Atlas was looking at a living tidal wave barreling in their direction, sending shivers down his spine. He shook his head before speaking, ''Should we head for the Otherworld?''
Grishna shook her head, ''We need to keep moving; maybe use that big bird of yours?''
''Raymond?'' he replied before shrugging.
Atlas summoned the Stormeagle, and the women packed everything away. The monster's voice echoed in his mind, "Master, that swarm is heading for you."
''I know, that's why I called for you,'' he answered the bird. ''We need to get further south and reach a city.''
Raymond's giant head bobbed up and down while speaking, ''Yes, that was a good call. I can fly faster than any monster in this part of the world.''
Atlas and the women quickly climbed onto Raymond's back, gripping tightly as the mighty Stormeagle launched into the sky. A group of monsters closed in, but with a piercing screech, their ride unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt, striking the closest creatures.
It burst into ash before being scattered by the wind as they ascended, leaving nothing but smoke drifting in their wake. Atlas grinned when seeing this before Raymond took off and started flying south.
The group clung to the creature's back as he soared through the frigid sky, the wind biting against their faces. Below them stretched a vast, snow-covered landscape, its beauty marred by scenes of devastation.
Villages lay in ruins, their charred remains poking through the blanket of white, silent and lifeless. Broken walls and abandoned homes dotted the landscape, telling silent stories of battles lost.
'Damn, empire causes chaos wherever they go,'
he thought as the women were chatting among themselves.
While sitting there, he checked on the map and realized they were close to another camp. Atlas ordered Raymond to travel toward it, which confused the women, but he quickly explained, ''I want to wipe out more empire camps; it will cause the soldiers guarding the cities to send more out here to see what happened.''
The five of them agreed, causing Atlas to drop some Warrior Giants on top of them, making him chuckle. Twenty minutes later, Raymond flew over to the Achaemendian camp, and they all noticed how active it was.
With a wave, Atlas summoned five Warrior Giants that dropped from the sky and crashed into the camp. As that happened, the enemy panicked completely as his monsters started attacking them.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
He watched as the monster used their giant wooden clubs to crush the armored knights and mages attacking them. Atlas chuckled at the unfolding chaos before asking Estelle, ''Can you give me some mana beautiful?''
The knight beamed as she grabbed his hand and cast healing light on him, making him feel slightly better. After that, Atlas summoned more Void Ghouls and a Savage Void Bear that dropped atop the enemy camp.
Following that, Raymond landed on a nearby perch to watch his monsters wipe out the Achaemendians, which fascinated the women. Soon after that, the enemy soldiers all were killed, and the Ghouls dragged the mountain of corpses back to the Otherworld.
With the camp finally clear, Atlas signaled Raymond to continue southward. Before long, the sprawling Shadowfang City appeared on the horizon.
