333 Her Worry, Their Comfort

CHAPTER 333
They returned but Jade remained consumed in her thoughts.
The scenery she saw made it hard for her to look elsewhere or focus on other things.
It was magical. It was beautiful. Amidst the surreal feeling she got, goosebumps crept up her skin as she recalled those eyes on her and what it felt like.
‘I was watched no doubt.’
She couldn’t shake that feeling off. It wasn’t Xander, she was sure of it. Or perhaps was it someone from their realm peeping at her?
She shook her head and smacked her forehead.
“Ouch!” She had been so lost she did not take note of the force she used causing her to cry out in pain and in turn pull all the attention of the ladies in the kitchen.
.....
Jade’s eyes darted from person to person till she fully understood what was happening.
“Pffft.” Minerva was the first to burst into laughter. Just like a tap let loose, every other female present burst into a peal of unending laughter.
Soon enough Jade found herself being contaminated as she joined the train and loved every moment of it.

The sweet fun and relief from their duties soon died down but the beautiful smiles etched on the faces of everyone gave her a comforting feeling.
“You’ve been so out of it lately,” Macy stated matter of factly.
Several heads moved up and down in agreement with her words. Slowly, Jade’s chest rose and fell as she released a deep breath.
“I’m sorry if I seemed strange,” she apologized hoping she had not caused them too much worry.
“No need. We understand that with the preparations going on, you will feel overwhelmed.”
“I know but this...” She looked at Astoria. “It feels different Tori.”
“How so?” Asia asked from behind her. Before Jade knew what was happening, everyone had gathered her and waited for an answer.
“We can’t have you getting cold feet now, can we?” Jenny voiced.
“Not can you get sick before your big day,” Astoria added.
“No, no. I am not sick. This is different.”
“Explain what you have noticed. The symptoms perhaps and how you are feeling. We would draw out our diagnosis from there.”
“Oh, and what has happened during the last few days since your engagement was announced the other day, let’s not forget that, Macy.”
“Sure, Minerva,” Macy said with a pure smile.
“You girls.” Jade’s lips curled upwards giving them her appreciative smile. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome but... Start talking. Come, we would pause our cooking today and then let the staffs handle it. We must figure out why you are this way, right?” Asia inquired and let her gaze fall on every female.
They each gave a nod of understanding. Within seconds hands were latched on to their aprons and head covering as they returned them and filed out of the kitchen to tend to their worried friend.

By the time they had finished talking, everyone’s eyes glimmered with excitement. The Dragons were glad she got a taste of their world, and the humans looked forward to having their own experience.
“I bet the mate bond was pushing you there. That’s how you wondered where Xander was,” Jenny explained.
“True,” Minerva chipped in. “And do not worry about the stare. Perhaps it really was a curious supernatural peering from the other side of the portal.”
“You really think so?” Jade asked with doubt laced in her tone.
“Aye. I trust what Jenny and Minerva said,” Astoria added. “In any case, you do not have to worry about anything. You are safe now. All you should think about is how to look extremely beautiful on the day of your engagement.”
“Alright.”
“Good,” Asia nodded and beamed a reassuring smile at her friend.
“Thanks, guys. I am happy to have you all here.”
“Oh, by the way, have you and Xander consummated your mate bond?” Astoria asked.
“Toria,” Jenny smacked her on the hand and gave a side glance at Minerva. “Behave.”
She quickly caught the hint. “Oh, my bad.”
“You do not need to worry about me,” Minerva brushed off. “They are mates. Even if we were engaged, he would have to make her his priority. The mate bond out rules any and every magic. Besides he doesn’t love me.”
Jade felt her heart clench seeing another lady’s heart and hope get crushed because of her.
“One can’t tell the heart whom to love, huh?” Jade muttered subconsciously.
“We really can’t,” Minerva responded earning a surprised gasp from Jade. “It is ok. I am sorry for how I behaved in the past.”
“We’re good. So, no biggie.”
“So have you?” Astoria still inquired. She was one persistent soul not ready to give up. “I mean if they have then we must understand why the mate bond disturbs her every now and then. And if they have not then...”
“There’s no way they have not. I mean how would he resist having her when they are always so close,” Minerva cut in.
“We haven’t,” Jade confessed out of the blue.
They were shocked out of their wits. The bland stare in those eyes told everything. But few knew.
“I knew it. I haven’t sensed anything,” Astoria added, a sly smile beautifying her lips. “I know when Aramis and Asia consummated.”
Asia turned red instantly. Leave it to Astoria’s over-sensitive ears.
“Then how have you managed to tame the bond and still look sane?” Minerva blurted out her thoughts.
“Foreplay. We relieve each other through that. It is enough to quell the flames burning in us.”
“Awwn isn’t my baby growing,” Macy encouragingly uttered.
Understanding what she meant, Jade’s cheeks flushed a light red. “Aye.”
“A couple of months ago, you would have killed whoever touched you. Now you are getting foreplay with someone. I am proud of how you have grown.”
“Thanks, Mace, I am happy too. He gives me pleasure like...”
“Ahem!”

All eyes flew open at the familiar voice, presence and aura.
“Sorry to interrupt you ladies but I wish to steal my fiancé.”
