Chapter 13: Yggdrasil XI
Chapter 13: Yggdrasil XI
~In the dreams~
In a desolate environment, a serpent slithered around in the remains of a destroyed city. The buildings were reduced to rubble as they moved through them.
Two young men were flying behind the serpent, attacking its massive body with various skills.
It had a grotesque body with multiple limbs and eyes protruding from all over it.
Obsidian scales adorned its body. Bolts of lightning, each a spectral hue distinct from the last, coursed around its body. Its eyes glowed with eldritch fire.
It dwarfed even the most massive man-made structures. It stretched for 10 kilometers and stood at a height of a kilometer.
"ALL CUTTING SLASH!"
One of the young men shouted and lunged toward the snake-like monster. At the same time, another booming voice could be heard.
"All Bind!"
Ethereal chains manifested around the serpent and bound it to the ground, halting its movement. The sword wielded by the young man cleaved through the obsidian scales, causing its head to be severed from its body.
The head landed, causing a tiny earthquake. Its body lost all strenght and fell to the ground, crushing everything in its wake.
???: "Finally, it's over."
One of the young men who had black hair and brown eyes spoke. Wounds riddled his body. His name was Jacob.
James: "Yeah."
Then suddenly, a massive purple portal materialized in the sky.
Jacob: "Shit!"
Both took a defensive stance. About five years ago, Earth was invaded by monstrosities.
Like the grotesque serpent, these monstrosities possessed twisted forms that defied nature. Deformities marred their bodies, as multiple limbs had sprouted chaotically from their frames, creating a disconcerting ensemble of aberrations.
After their appearance, 95% of Earth's population; dead in just a few months. These monstrosities possessed supernatural powers like; the ability to control metal, spread deadly plagues, etc.
Modern weapons and medicines proved to be ineffective against them. But a few humans stood up to them. They were known as the Devas.
Before their emergence, Earth had a secret supernatural side; hidden from society. James and Jacob were a part of this.
After their appearance, the members of the supernatural side became the saviors of mankind.
Among them, James and Jacob were the most powerful. And after 15 years, they managed to kill the last monstrosity on Earth, the Eldritch Serpent.
Jacob: "Do you think more horrors are coming."
The monstrosities also had another name, the Eldritch Horrors.
James: "I don't think so. The size of the portal is too small for that."
After a minute, a humanoid figure exited the portal. It had purple skin, enlarged limbs, and a massive eyeball on its entire face.

It gazed toward the young men with its massive ball and spoke in a distorted voice capable of killing a typical human.
???: "Don't be too happy, humans. My empress will surely have the core of this planet. And no one can stop her. You shoul--"
Before it could continue, Jacob attacked it with his sword, killing it immediately.
Jacob: "What now? I don't think we'll be able to stop more of them."
James, after thinking for a few minutes,; answered.
James: "Gather every spatial mage you can find. We are leaving this planet. The serpent will provide materials for the ship."
Jacob: "Sure."
Saying this, both started flying toward the last human settlement on Earth.
~Scene Break~
I woke up in my bed, covered in sweat. It has been a few months since I started having these dreams. I do sometimes think about those days.
'Too bad he died. If only I could have stopped him.'
I shook away those thoughts and entered the bathroom.
~Scene Change~
I materialized in my chambers. It had been a few days since I completed all my Production-Oriented builds.
I managed to create 3 more builds during this time. My second Production-Oriented build focused on enchanting.
The job classes I chose for this build were; Enchanter (15), Master Enchanter (10), Grand Master Enchanter (5), Charmcrafter (5), Wardweaver (5), Rune Smith (15), Sage (15), High Sage (10), Enchantment Scholor (15), and Origin Enchanter (5). The race for this build was an Elf with blonde hair, green eyes, and a lithe physique.
My third build was a Dark Elf with purple hair, golden eyes, and a fit physique. The job classes I chose for this build were; Alchemist (15), Alchemical Scribe (10), Transmutationist (5), Potionier (15), Potion Master (10), Elixirist (5), Herbalist (15), Poison Maker (10), Toxicologist (5), and Mineralist (10).
As for the fourth build, I decided to play as a golem. The classes I chose for this build were; Golem (15), High Golem (10), Primal Golem (5), Engineer (15), Golemancer (10), Mechanomancer (5), Artificial Artisan (15), Elemental Golemancer (10), Geo Golemancer (5), Tinkerer (5), and Ethereal Animator (5).
The last build was focused on creating Golems. I chose to make this build was; I wanted to make a golem more powerful than Rubedo.
In the original series, the 8th floor of Nazarick housed the most powerful NPCs of the guild. The 1,500 players were unable to cross the 8th floor when they attacked Nazarick. It was rumored; the most powerful NPC of Ainz Ooal Gown was Rubedo. A golem created by Caloric Stones.
She was stationed on the 8th floor, and Momonga wanted to create someone even more powerful than her.
'Now I have 6 available variants. The time for the World Championship tournament should also be near.'
Some years after the release of Yggdrasil, an annual tournament was held in all nine worlds. The winner received the mightiest warrior class, "World Champion."
There were only nine World Champions, one for each world. In the original series, Touch Me became the World Champion of lfheim. Momonga also wanted to become the World Champion. It was the type of class that also boasted an exceptionally high fighting prowess. If a player won the tournament, developers gave them custom equipment.
'I need to make another variant to get the World Champion class.'
After careful consideration, I opted for the Vampire for the new variant.
After deciding on the race, I began my preparations for the collection of corpses.
~time Skip~
After 5 hours of killing Vampires, I gathered enough corpses to unlock the new variant.
After using Altering Invocation to unlock a new variant, I customized its appearance to my preferences.
I chose Alucard from Helsing Ultimate for my appearance; a tall, long-limbed, broad-shouldered adult man of indeterminate but reasonably young age, red eyes, which may glow when he is experiencing strong emotions, short, jet-black hair, and his bangs fall slightly in his eyes.
As for the attire, I chose a "Victorian Style" fashion attire, which included a white suit covered by a grey charcoal suit with a crimson frock overcoat, which has ruffles on its shoulders, similar to duster coats, grey dress pants, leather riding boots, a red cravat, a crimson fedora that has a wide floppy brim, along with a pair of dark green, circular, orange-tinted sunglasses with goggle sidings, and white gloves engraved with the Hellsing seal.
Ulbert: "Man, this looks cool!"
Ulbert entered my chambers and began to praise my appearance of attire. After getting Ulbert off my back, I ventured to the realm of Mspellsheim to level up.
Before leaving for Mspellsheim, I crafted a sword to use as a weapon. I wanted to make this build warrior-oriented.
The sword was a Divine Class item; its production took a lot of resources out of my stockpile. I enchanted it with effects like increased Physical Attack, Attack Speed, and Agility enhancement.
I could have added a lot more enchantments, but I refrained. The reason was this sword was only a temporary weapon.
The build I had in mind for this variant required a unique weapon. But I needed more resources than I have right now to make it.
With that in mind, I started my journey toward the realm of Mspellsheim.
~Scene Change~
Once I reached the swamps of Mspellsheim, I switched to my demon variant and started flying, looking for my prey. After searching for a few minutes, I found a level 30 lesser vampire.
I used the 5th-tier spell *Maximize Magic: Magic Arrow*.
It materialized one arrow that rushed toward the enemy. On contact with the enemy, it did enough damage to bring its HP down to 5.
I landed a bit far from it and switched to the vampire variant. And attacked it with my sword.
Due to enchantments on the sword, my states were far above a typical level 1 player.
[Congragulations for defeating a level 30 Shadow Demon! You have received 5,000 EXP.]
[The effect of 'Advancement Amulet' has been applied. 5,000 EXP -> 7,500 EXP.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
In total, I obtained 28 State Points. I allocated 8 points to Physical Attack and 8 to Agility. I evenly distributed the remaining points among all the other states except the MP and Magic Attack states.
This build was going to be a pure warrior type with no points in MP and Magic Attack.
I also received a notification telling me about the available job classes I had.
[Classes Available: Sword Novice]
I chose the only available class. My status looked like this.

I continued grinding levels for the coming hours.
After a few days of grinding, I had enough levels to upgrade my racial class. I upgraded to the True Vampire racial class. My Sword Novice job class was at level 8.
Before choosing the next racial class, I needed to upgrade my job class to the next level.
'Let's keep grinding!'
~Scene Change~
It was Sunday, and a few members of the clan had arranged to meet in IRL. I didn't want to go, but under their request, I decided to go and meet them.
I exited my apartment while wearing a hazmat suit. Fortunately, my apartment was in a posh area where the crime rate was relatively low.
I walked out of the posh area and made my way toward the inner city. It took me half an hour to reach the meeting place. As I neared it, I saw multiple people laughing and having fun. Among them, I saw someone familiar.
After seeing him, I stopped and stared at the group. After a few seconds, I approached the group. As I neared them, one of the people looked toward me and raised his hand.
???: "Momonga-san, how are you doing today."
Momonga: "Hello, I am doing fine."
After the initial pleasantries, we entered the establishment to eat. It turned out the one with the familiar face was ---.
