Chapter 30 - D-Day
The next day,
Entrance of Lucas's old Base
Lucas was standing in front of the entrance. He looked at the gate with complicated feelings. There was no one guarding it. There were security cameras everywhere, but they did not flash their usual red, indicating that they were not recording. Lucas sighed, and he pushed the gates wide open. The gates creaked as they swing open.
Arthur, and all the other council members were behind him, lined up. They all had grim faces. Arthur looked at Lucas.
"Are you sure that you want to do this? Forgive and forget. He's just a kid. He must have been enticed by the wrong things and must have done this. Who knows? When he sees you, he might repent and even beg you for forgiveness?", Arthur suggested once more.
Lucas was completely silent. He did not say anything. He took a deep breath. The base was higher in altitude compared to the rest of the city, but it was not even close to where Peter had backstabbed Lucas. It was the other side of town. Lucas glanced at the city, which could be visible from where they were.
"No. I have to do this. If I don't, well, I have to do this. If I don't I will not be Lucas anymore.", Lucas shook his head, and he took a step into the base. All of the council members sighed. Mu Chen had a bag in his hand, and it was unzipped. He had a hand in there as if he was waiting for something.

Lucas took a step inside the Base. Sighing, all of the members took the same step. They went into the base slowly, and cautiously. Although they were all one of the most powerful people in the world, they also were a few of the more wise ones. Years of experience have taught them to expect the unexpected and to not underestimate an unknown enemy.
"Looks like you did a stellar job with this place. A geminal core with sandstone around it? I can't see through it, not even hear anything. The whole place is like a nightmare for anyone but a werewolf.", Michael slapped the wall next to him as they were entering the base itself.
Praneeth, and the council members did not respond to that. They were quiet, and continued to walk down the pathways. It was a one storied building, but according to Lucas, the true base was underground. The small building was just a ruse.
They slowly approached an elevator. Lucas' eyes were perked. His eyes flashed left and right, and his face was not looking good. "I can't hear anything. It looks like there is not anyone here.", he shook his head. "Looks like we have to go down.", he said, and he pointed to the elevator.
"Alright, is there any other elevator that we can use. I look at that once, and it just feels like it is a trap waiting for us to step in. I am not taking that risk. Nu-uh", Angela stepped back.
"Fine, I'll go in first. If there is a problem, I'll come out blasting from the top.", Lucas nodded.
"The top? Are you sure? This place, the walls, everywhere is a fortress.", Raphael asked him to reconfirm.
"It's alright. I am the red wolf. A wall can't possibly stop me.", he shook his head as he went into the elevator. Pressing the button. the elevator dinged as it started descending. The moment that Lucas was out of their sight, Praneeth sighed. All of the other looked at him with curiosity.
"What happened? Something serious?", they asked. Praneeth's eye, which was wide open looked like it was about to burst in tears.
"You saw something? How? This place is a supernatural faraday cage.",Arthur asked.
"Nothing can stop the eye of a god. Nothing could have stopped me from seeing the blood bath that happened down there before we arrived. God, is there any hope for us at all?", he looked up, as he sat leaned on to the wall.
"Blood bath? What do you mean?"
Then, they all heard a blood curling sound from near the elevator. All of their eyes changed. They looked at the elevator with serious looks.
"Peter! I will murder you! I will look for you, hound you, and make you wish you were never alive.", Lucas' voice boomed out throughout the entire building.
