Chapter 31 - All Dead
Lucas entered the elevator. He looked at the others as the doors closed. Lucas felt ominous. Something about the place was wrong. For a base this big, and for it was eerily quiet. Lucas felt a shiver down his spine.
"Feeling bad, Lucas? Surely you know to trust your instincts. They are probably right.", Fenrir spoke.
"Why do you care? It's not like you care about us mortals. The moment that you heard that your dear old brother was breaking free, you tried wrestling control away.", Lucas spat out.
"Hehe, what are you talking about? I only care about you in the entire world. Why would I possibly want to hurt you? I was doing this for you. You need me because you are going to be a world of hell. With this information, hordes of people are going to target you, and you are going to have to fend them off with my power.", Fenrir said.
"Shut up, we will talk about this later.", Lucas said as the elevator stopped with a thud. The doors opened, and Lucas instinctively snarled. A bloody fog covered the entire floor, and Lucas' nose was twitching because of the smell.

"What the hell happened here? Looks like a blood bank was vaporized by the looks of it. How is there so much blood in here?", he thought out loud as he slowly stepped into the fog.
Taking slow but steady steps, he inched closer to the source of the smell. With every step that he took, he felt more and more uneasy, as if something was about to come and kill him. Finally, he stopped at a door with a small opening. It was clear that this was where the smell and all the blood red fog was coming from because even more was leaving through the small gap that the door made with the wall.
Lucas' arm hairs stood up, and his eyes turned bright red as he slowly pushed the door open. The silence of the floor was disturbed by an uneasy creak of the door. As the door swing open, Lucas took a few steps inside. Nothing was visible, even to Lucas, because the fog inside was basically opaque, and the density of the blood in the air was frightening. It was as if hundreds of people were killed here, and the blood was dispersed into the air.
As he entered the room, Lucas felt an immense heat rush at him. His eyebrows were laced with sweat just a few steps in, and Lucas did not like the progression of the events one bit.
"Peter! I know you are in here, somewhere. You better be hiding, because when I find you, you are going to feel the brunt of my wrath.", he said loudly, as if it was a comfort to himself, and a way to break the still silent atmosphere.
"Lucas?", a weak sound came from the depths of the room. The voice was so weak that only Lucas could hear it. No normal human could have. But Lucas' eyes widened because he recognized this voice very much.
Disregarding all the cautionary steps that he had taken so far, he rushed to where the sound came from. But what he saw horrified him. In front of him, he could finally see what had caused all this blood bath.
There were rows and rows of benches, and what seemed to be corpses were tied to each bench. At the foremost bench, the skinned corpse called out Lucas' name again.
"Steven? What happened do you? What is this? I thought that all of you left me after Peter's betrayal. I thought that you skipped town.", Lucas' voice was quivering.
"We were as shocked as you are. He had help. A lot of help. Everyone was very powerful, and we didn't stand a chance. All of them are dead, Lucas. All of them are dead. I am only.", the voice stopped talking. Lucas was shook. He looked around, and his ears perked up, but nothing. He was right. There was not a heartbeat from a single one of these mangled corpses. They had all been tortured to death.
"Peter! I will murder you! I will look for you, hound you, and make you wish you were never alive.", Lucas' voice boomed out throughout the entire building.
