Chapter 79 - Father's Death
Arriving at the hospital, Luna walked briskly down the deserted hallways of the hospital. Of course, because it was still three in the morning. All the nurses are certainly resting and the patients and visitors are sleeping in their respective wards.
"What number room?" asked Luna, who was now contacting Shandra.
Ethan was still beside her. He did not stare at his wife who was frantic.
"In the ICU," replied Shandra, who sounded like she was crying.
Luna immediately disconnected and walked back to find the location of the ICU room. She walked hastily as if forgetting that she was pregnant.
"Slow down, don't panic too much!" exclaimed Ethan, who had been walking side by side with Luna. He was afraid that his wife would slip or trip because she was in such a hurry.
"Father is in the ICU, which means that he is in a very critical condition. Even Shandra sounds like she is crying," said Luna angrily.
Ethan could only standstill as he continued to follow Luna. he understood that his wife was panicking because he had been in that position when his father was also critical and finally died.
In front of the ICU room, Luna saw Shandra with a middle-aged woman sitting down, while Arsha was pacing in front of the ICU door. the three of them looked frantic.
Luna immediately approached them with hasty steps and a worried face. Ethan faithfully followed her while carrying her small bag.

"Sis... Mom... how is Dad" Luna immediately asked while staring at her mother who was weak and looking sad. She immediately hugged her mother who had not met face to face for a long time.
"Your dad is getting critical, Dear," said Rita, Luna's mother.
"What happened, Mom? Why did he get into an accident?" asked Luna as she let go of her embrace.
"Maybe your father was sleepy, he insisted on driving and finally he lost his balance and hit the barrier of the bridge," explained Rita.
Shandra just didn't flinch at the interaction between her mother and sister. Meanwhile, Ethan, stood beside Arsha, waiting for the ICU door, which had not yet opened.
"Hopefully dad is safe and well," Luna embraced her mother from the side. Leaning her head on the shoulder of the woman who gave birth to her.
"We pray the best for dad." Shandra also hugs her mother.
Rita sobbed in the arms of her two daughters whom she had also missed for a long time.
Ceklek...
Ethan and Arsha immediately turned their heads to the open ICU door. The doctor looks unconvincing.
Luna immediately approached the doctor and asked, "how is my father, Doc?"
"His condition is quite harmful because the wound on his head is quite serious," replied the doctor sadly. "He wants to talk to his two daughters," he continued.
Luna and Shandra looked at each other then nodded. This is a sign that they are ready to meet their father.
"Can I come in too," asked Rita.
"Yes, all of you can come in," replied the doctor. As if giving a clue that Luna's father had to meet all family members. Because his condition is already dying.
Luna and Shandra looked sadly at their father who was lying weakly in a hospital bed with many medical devices attached to his body. Even his bandaged head still had red stains of blood that continued to ooze out.
"My daughters ... finally, Daddy can meet you again," Ananta whispered, smiling at his two little daughters, now has been married women.
"Daddy must be strong. Sorry, because we came when Daddy was hit by an accident," said Shandra while holding her father's fingers.
"It's okay, it's only natural that you are married," replied Ananta, then turned his gaze to Ethan and Arsha who were standing behind their wives.
"You are my son-in-law. Please take good care of my daughters ... don't make them sad." Ananta said haltingly because his breath began to feel increasingly short.
"Why say that, Dad? Daddy will be fine! Daddy should see daddy's twin grandchildren born!" Luna did not accept Ananta's words as if they were a clue that she was near death.
"Twin grandchildren?" asked Ananta with a happy smile. "Hopefully you can be a good mother for them, educate them as your mother educates you and Shandra well." Ananta held out her hand, then stroked Luna's hair.
"Daddy will get well," said Ethan, who also didn't want his father-in-law to die. he felt the same sadness when his father died.
Arsha nodded in agreement and said, "We will love and make your daughter happy. But you must be sure you can get through all this."
"Daddy has to be strong. Look at Luna's stomach as big as a ball, in there are daddy's grandchildren who will be very cute. Soon they will be born and will call dad 'grandpa'. They are daddy's first grandchild." Shandra cries staring at her father who seems to give up. Her hand pointed to Luna's stomach so that her father would return to the spirit of life for his unborn grandchildren.
Rita could only cry seeing this sad moment. she is also not ready to lose a husband who has been with her for nearly 30 years.
Ananta sighed. His eyes were closed, he felt his breath getting tight and it was difficult to say anymore.
Cough ...
Ananta coughed and bled a little blood from his mouth and nose.
"Ethan, hurry up call the doctor!" Shandra exclaimed who was panicked seeing her father's condition getting worse.
Luna cried and shook her head at her father who was dying. "You have to endure. I haven't made you happy at all!"
Rita and Shandra can only sob their tears waiting for Ethan to call the doctor. Meanwhile, Arsha could only remain silent seeing the condition of his in-laws which seemed to have no hope of getting well again.
"Luna ... Shandra ...."Ananta again called his two daughters in between his increasingly short breaths.
"Yes, Dad. Be patient, the doctor will come," said Shandra, staring sadly at her father who was getting weaker.
Ananta shook his head and said, "Daddy is not strong anymore ... you have to ...." Ananta took another breath that was getting increasingly short.
Luna and Shandra were crying even more. Rita also could not hold back her tears, which became increasingly broken to see her husband dying.
cough . ...
Ananta vomited blood again. He was getting limp and helpless. "You must ... see ... your mother often!"
Ananta breathed his last after saying his last message.
"Dad, you can't leave us now!" Luna shook her father's body. Meanwhile, Shandra cried while hugging her mother.
"Why is Ethan taking so long, hurry up and go see the doctor!" cried Luna to Arsha, then she cried again hugging her father.
Before Arsha left his place, Ethan came with the doctor and nurse.
"You better get out, we'll try to do a favor!" exclaimed the Doctor.
Luna shook her head unwillingly. Ethan immediately asked her out with the others.
Doctors try to save Ananta by using a heart shock device. Until several times the action was carried out, but the middle-aged man's body did not respond.
"He was dead." The doctor looked at the nurse, who immediately removed the medical equipment on Ananta's lifeless body. The middle-aged man had passed away before seeing his first twin grandchildren born into the world. It seemed as if it had left a deep wound and regret for Luna and the whole family. who would have thought that an accident could come anytime and anywhere to defend anyone's life ...
